BHA Introduccion El diseño de las BHA rotarias es, junto con la orientacion, la parte mas critica del trabajo del DD. La minimizacion de los viajes para cambio de BHA es el objetivo de todos los clientes. 10.1 BHA Rotaria Antes del advenimiento de las httas. MWD y/o de los motores navegables, el acercamiento “clasico” a un trabajo de DD es el siguiente (Ej. para realizar un KOP en un hoyo de 17 ½”: 1. Una o mas bHA’s rotarias (tipicamente en hoyos de 36” y 26”) fueron usadas para perforar la seccion superior. Un BHA rotatorio de 17 ½” se uso para perforar la zapata de 20” y la seccion hasta el KOP. El pozo seria planeado normalmente para tener suficiente agujero abierto desde el casing de 20” hasta el KOP para eliminar la posibilidad de interferencia magnetica cuando se realice el KOP. 2. Se metio al pozo una barrena (17 ½” o mas peque ña)/ motor de fondo / combinacion de bent sub. Se tomaron surveys magneticos y giroscopicos cuando fue necesario a intervalos cortos. La inclinacion del agujero se incremento a 8° en una formacion dura y +/- 15° en una formacion mas suave. Habiendo logrado el azimuth del pozo requerido (con un angulo lider tomado en cuenta), este BHA fue sacado a superficie. 3. Entonces se metio una sarta rotaria al pozo. La inclinacion se incremento cerca del angulo maximo requerido en el plan del pozo. Controlando los parametros de perofracion (especialmente PSB y RPM) todos los esfuerzos fueron encaminados a mantener el azimuth en curso. Entonces se saco este BHA a superficie. 4. Se metio al pozo entonces una sarta empacada. En un pozo slant, el objetivo normal fue el de mantener la inclinacion hasta el siguiente punto de casing. Se perimitieron pequenas variaciones en inclinacion. De nuevo, los parametros de perforacion se variaron como fue necesario. Ya que la sarta estaba rigida, en teoria dio la mejor posibilidad de mantener el azimuth del pozo dentro de los limites prescritos. BHA’s con un solo estabilizador Un modo facil de controlar el punto tangencial es el de insertar un estabilizador en el BHA
(Figure 10-5). Si el estabilizador se situa lo suficientemente lejos de la barrena, no tiene efecto en el comportamiento del BHA. de cualquier manera, si el estabilizador se mueve mas cerca de la barrena, el punto tangencial cambia. Los drill collars entre la barrena y el estabilizador se doblan cuando se aplica un cierto peso. Se alcanza un punto cuando ocurre una fuerza lateral negativa maxima (fuerza pendular). Al mover el mover el estabilizador mas cerca de la barrena reduce la fuerza pendular. Gradualmente, se alcanza un punto cuando la fuerza lateral se presenta. Moviendo el estabilizador mas hacia abajo da una fuerza lateral positiva. El drill collar directamente arriba del estabilizador se dobla cuando se aplica PSB. El estabilizador forza a la barrena hacia el lado alto del pozo. A esto se la llama efecto de Fulcro. Incrementos en el peso (hasta un cioerto punto) conducira a un incremento en el ritmo de construccion de angulo.

En la practica, pequenos cambios en la inclinacion del pozo frecuentemente ocurren con una buena opcion de BHA empacada. Por lo que es practica comun empezar el decremento nates que el programa con un BHA menos agresivo incorporando un portabarrena estabilizador fuera de calibre (Una modificacion del BHA No.1). Con este tipo de sarta frecuentemente se logra un ritmo de decremento de 1°-1.5°/30 m. Cuando la inclinacion ha caido a 15° (en el punto en el que la fuerza de gravedad es mucho menor) se hace un viaje a superficie. Entonces se mete la sarta No.5 para perforar hasta la profundidad final. Este plan de be ser discutido con el cliente antes de que comienze el trabajo, ya que esta involucrado un viaje extra.
