2. PROCEDURE TO BE FOLLOWED IN THE CASE OF APPLICATION FOR DISCOUNTS:

3.1 The !oittee underta+es( as far as &ossible( the &eriodi"al ins&e"tion of all &reises in whi"h fire etin%uishin% a&&lian"es( entitlin% the ris+ to s&e"ial dis"ounts or ratin%s for su"h a&&lian"es( are installed. For this &ur&ose( the !oittee>s #ns&e"tion En%ineers shall ha,e the ri%ht of a""ess to the &reises of the #nsured at an tie with or without %i,in% an &rior noti"e. 3.2 The *riar dut of the #ns&e"tors is to re&ort to the !oittee on the "ondition and effi"ien" of the a&&lian"es installed as well as to ensure the re%ulations are bein% obser,ed. The will( howe,er( %i,e hel& and ad,i"e in the aintenan"e of the a&&lian"es and on atters &ertainin% to fire &rote"tion and &re,ention. 3.3 The attention of the #ns&e"tin% En%ineers shall be drawn( durin% their ,isits( to an "han%es effe"ted sin"e the &re,ious ins&e"tion or to an "onte&lated etensions and alterations to the eistin% ser,i"es. This &ro"edure does not( howe,er( dis&ense with the ne"essit of ad,isin% the #nsuran"e !o&an or !o&anies interested on the ris+ of an "han%es( whi"h affe"t the &lan of the ris+ or the details of the a&&lian"es( re"orded with !oittee.

6.6.16 Effe"ti,e "a&a"it of fire fi%htin% tan+ /ee rule Co. 7.3 shall not be less than 2 hrs. a%%re%ate &u&in% "a&a"it for buildin%s less than 60 in hei%ht. The tan+ "a&a"it shall( howe,er( be in"reased to 3 hrs. &u&in% "a&a"it for buildin%s ha,in% hei%ht 60 and abo,e. The tan+s shall be "onstru"ted in two inde&endent but inter"onne"ted "o&artents as &er rule 7.3 of this Manual. The fire tan+ ust be in two "o&artents with a baffle wall in between not %oin% ri%ht down to the base of the tan+. This arran%eent will ensure &ro&er "ir"ulation of the firewater and &re,ent sta%nation. /ee fi%ure below.
6.6.26 The stora%e tan+ shall be &ro,ided with a 150 fire bri%ade &u&in% "onne"tion to dis"har%e at least 2(275 @itres &er inute into the tan+. This "onne"tion shall not be ta+en dire"tl into the side of the stora%e tan+( but arran%ed to dis"har%e not less than 150 abo,e the o,erflow le,el of the tan+. The "onne"tion shall be fitted with sto& ,al,e in a &osition a&&ro,ed b the "oittee in ad,an"e. $n o,erflow "onne"tion dis"har%in% to a ,isible drain &oint shall be &ro,ided fro the stora%e tan+.
6.6.3 The fire bri%ade "onne"tion shall be fitted with four nubers of 63 instantaneous inlets in a %lass fronted wall bo at a suitable &osition at street le,el( so lo"ated as to a+e the inlets a""essible fro outside of the buildin%. The sie of the wall bo shall be ade-uate to allow hose to be "onne"ted to the inlets( e,en if the door "annot be o&ened and the %lass has to be bro+en. Ea"h bo shall ha,e fall of 25 towards the front at its base and shall be %laed with wired %lass with AF#E #D$E #C@ETA &ainted on the inner fa"e of the %lass in 50 sie blo"+ letters. 6.6.4 #n addition to the eer%en" fire bri%ade "onne"tion to the stora%e tan+( a 150 "onne"tion shall be ta+en fro the four 63 instantaneous inlets dire"t to ea"h hdrant riser so that the fire bri%ade a &u& to the hdrants in the e,ent of hdrant &u&s bein% out of the "oission.
