Initiation given by His Eminence the 12 th Zurmang Gharwang Rinpoche on 2nd October 2005, Sunday, Singapore: The deity is a manifestation of Avalokiteshvara Avalokiteshvara to help beings overcome sicknesses and prevent the spread of epidemic. Diseases are caused by negative karma created through jealousy, broken samayas, living unethically, living life without a good heart and with the thought of the three poisonous minds, having an unrighteous unrighteous mind, doing harmful actions and so forth thus receiving harm from those evil doers (mamos) who harm other living beings. However, with confidence and diligence and with the right motivation through the practice, we can ward off the diseases.
