Title of the Study Management Information System of Nitol Motors Ltd. Profile of the Organization or Business Establishment Nitol Motors Ltd is the sole distributor of TATA vehicles and the authorized company to servicing those vehicles. A dynamic young man Abdul Matlub Ahmad founded Nitol Motors Ltd. In 1983. Very soon the new company became a major player in the commercial vehicle market and has been growing ever since. With the motto of quality, honesty and efficiency the company in its beginning started with trading of vehicles. Its high sales figure attracted international companies and in 1989 Nitol Motors Ltd. became the sole distributor of TATA of TATA vehicles in Bangladesh. In 1991 a joint venture company named Nita Company Ltd. was formed between TATA and NITOL for assembly of TATA of TATA vehicles in Bangladesh. From a trading company in the early eighties, Nitol-Niloy Group has literally become a household name in less than twenty years. Over the years, it has expanded its activities into different sectors in order to ensure excellence in service to the customers. Because of its continuous diversification, it has shaped itself as a true conglomerate from its original identity as a transport based organization. Nitol-Niloy Group has a strong, diversified profile in Bangladesh. It has opted for trading, assembling of vehicles, bus body making, after sales support, transport and aviation services, financial institutions, manufacturing industries, real estate including building of satellite townships, properties development and sports promotion. New enterprises are being implemented. Nitol-Niloy Group is looking at a new horizon of attainable dreams. For Nitol-Niloy Group, sky is the limit. Rationale of the Study The topic of this project will be very helpful for the related subject to gain practical experience in the field of MIS. This company has a very strong and unique Management system for controlling its service processes. Also we will learn new knowledge and experience about professional cultures as we are going to visit this company for our project purpose.
Statement of the problems
There are three divisions that we are going to describe: 1. Service 2. Sales 3. Marketing Service: In service there are some specific service processes that has to monitored and controlled periodically. The company has a online monitoring system, but the time taken in service are too much. We will discuss this issue briefly in the report. Sales: The Sales division has to sell vehicle to the customer. They have a database of those customers. They have to maintain it regularly in order to keep updated. We will observe and find out the problems and also solutions for this division. Marketing: Marketing department is responsible for promoting sales and service packages. For this they also have to get customer feedbacks for improving the customer satisfaction. We will personally monitor and find out their laggings. Scope and delimitation of the study: We know an engineer working in that organization. There will not be any problem for us to collect data and information from that company. Objectives of the study:
Our objectives are-
1. To search the departmental problems 2. To improve customer satisfaction tool 3. To find out the tool for continuous improvement (Keizen)
Methodology of the study: We will collect data by visiting the company and thus interviewing with the manager and employees those are working in the mentioned departments.
Schedule of activities: First we had to go through different types of companies and then the more access that we could get was this one and then we decide to do our project on New Square Electronics. Also we are going to do questionnaire survey for collecting more information.
