INTRODUCTION As information becomes readily available, online shopping has been on the roll. With the easier access to the information & online service, customers’ preference has also gone up in favor of online shopping in place of the traditional one. So, online shopping industry has got the tempo to thrive here in Bangladesh as well as in other countries. Online shopping, therefore, seems to have good prospect here.
OBJECTIVE Primary Objective: To get a general view of the current status of online shopping mall in Bangladesh and analyze the future prospect of the same.
Secondary Objectives: 1. To look into the history of online shopping & its present growth status in Bangladesh. 2. To
analyze different kinds of problem it might regarding its applications & others.
3. To
have
study financial feasibility & benefits from both buyers’ & sellers’ perspective.
4. To
get the public view about what changes it can bring about in their day to day shopping behavior.
SCOPE This study will be mainly based on the online shopping & its nature in Bangladesh. With the rising penetration of internet various departmental stores & shopping malls tend to go online to attract distant customers. We shall analyze the data from different online shopping stores & workout on that to come to a decision. The study will be limited to the handful number of shopping malls that has gone online. And finally a study will be undertaken to forecast the future of online shopping malls and judge its present condition in Bangladesh.
METHODOLOGY Firstly, a literature survey will be performed to get the latest condition of online shopping. Data will be collected mostly by visiting various online shopping stores in Bangladesh & getting an idea of it. After collecting all the data an extensive study will be performed whether it is financially feasible or not in synchronization with the data. Feedback from customers will also be incorporated to find the ways to improve its functioning. Finally importance will be given on the customers & stores to help the online shopping stores take right steps to win the customers
satisfaction & win more customers on the way by acting on the feedback.
LIMITATION: Since the concept of online shopping mall is yet to be introduced in Bangladesh and this type of shopping transaction is not practiced yet, information may not be readily available. Lack of awareness among general people may reduce the amount of collected data. Moreover, the specific target customers of online shopping are arduous to identify during the survey.
