En esta obra, no se pretende profundizar en conocimientos de ingeniería complejos que involucren métodos numéricos avanzados, apenas encontraras 1 o 2 ecuaciones básicas que serán explicadas, este trabajo fue ideado para dar una idea muy generalizada del comportamiento aerodinámico de un F1 y como los ingenieros, junto a los pilotos, se las ingenian para extraer mas del 100% de los monoplazas con los que trabajan, se debe considerar a un bolido de F1 como un paquete en conjunto y complejo que involucra todo tipo de fenómenos y soluciones de índole aerodinámica, hoy día, aunque se le ha restado importancia con las reformas en el reglamente técnico de la FIA, se puede decir que la aerodinámica sigue siendo la pieza fundamental del buen desempeño de un coche de F1. éste que se estudia en hidrodinámica, la aerodinamica es uno de los factores mas influyentes en la F1. Cuando uno considera la Aerodinámica tiende a pensar en la Ingeniería Aeroespacial, es un hecho que la aerodinámica es una rama de la Mecánica de Fluidos y que fue desarrollada coda a codo con las aeronaves y que es una disciplina inconcebible sin las mismas. Y efectivamente así es; uno puede exigirle a un ingeniero aeroespacial un avanzado conocimiento en aerodinámica. No obstante, cuando uno habla de aerodinámica debe ensanchar su mente y empezar a considerar otros procesos o aspectos de las ciencias aplicadas que requieren de estudios aerodinámicos. Estamos hablando de procesos a “altas velocidades“. Con esa visión ampliada uno puede incluir casi cualquier vehículo, especialmente automóviles, edificios afectados por el viento, transporte en conductos, procesos internos en motores y un largo etcétera. De este modo, rápidamente se nos ocurre considerar la Fórmula 1. Normalmente los coches de Fórmula 1 alanzan velocidades de hasta 350 km/h en algunos circuitos, de hecho, antes del recorte de prestaciones del motor, velocidades de 370 km/h eran fácilmente alcanzables en las rectas de algunos circuitos. Por consiguiente, la media de velocidad de estos bólidos no es inferior a los 160 km/h. No hay duda entonces de que la aerodinámica juega en este juego, un papel muy importante. Aunque parezca contradictorio hicieron falta casi 20 años para que los ingenieros de la Fórmula 1 se dieran cuenta de la gran importancia que tenía la aerodinámica. Por ello, los principios que permiten volar a un avión son fácilmente aplicables a un coche de carreras. La única diferencia se encuentra en la forma en la que el ala o alerón está montado: justo al revés produciendo downforce en vez de Sustentación.

En la F1 entendemos por fluido al flujo de aire que esta en constante contacto con el coche, y es uno de los factores que determina el desempeño de este deacuerdo con la aerodinamica que haya entre ambos; una vez visto "Introduccion a al aerodinamica" entenderemos que dicha cinecia estudia el comportamiento de los fluidos gaseosos en cualquier momento o cirscuntancia; ademas uno de los fundamentos de la ingenieria mecanica es la mecanica de fluidos, que viene dada por el estudio y comprension de dichos elementos (vease Ingenieria basica); es por ello que me adentrare en la aerodinamica iniciando por fluidos. Para entender el comportamiento de dichos fluidos debemos entender las propiedades de estos y las leyes por medio de las cuales se rige la aerodinamica (desde el punto de vista de la competicion), veasen propiedades de fluidos.
MECANICA DE FLUIDOS
La mecánica de fluidos es la rama de la mecánica de medios continuos (que a su vez es una rama de la física) que estudia el movimiento de los fluidos (gases y líquidos) así como las fuerzas que los provocan. La característica fundamental que define a los fluidos es su incapacidad para resistir esfuerzos cortantes (lo que provoca que carezcan de forma definida). También estudia las interacciones entre el fluido y el contorno que lo limita. Hipótesis del medio continuo
La hipótesis del medio continuo es la hipótesis fundamental de la mecánica de fluidos y en general de toda la mecánica de medios continuos. En esta hipótesis se considera que el fluido es continuo a lo largo del espacio que ocupa, ignorando por tanto su estructura molecular y las discontinuidades asociadas a esta. Con esta hipótesis se puede considerar que las propiedades del fluido (densidad, temperatura, etc.) et c.) son funciones continuas. La forma de determinar la validez de esta hipótesis consiste en comparar el camino libre medio de las moléculas con la longitud característica del sistema físico. Al cociente entre estas longitudes se le denomina número de Knudsen. Cuando este número adimensional es mucho menor a la unidad, el material en cuestión puede considerarse un fluido (medio continuo). En el caso contrario los efectos debidos a la naturaleza molecular de la materia no pueden ser despreciados y debe utilizarse la mecánica estadística para predecir el comportamiento de la materia. Ejemplos de situaciones donde la hipótesis del medio continuo no es válida pueden encontrarse en el estudio de los plasmas. Concepto de partícula fluida
Este concepto esta muy ligado al del medio continuo y es sumamente importante en la mecánica de fluidos. Se llama partícula fluida a la masa elemental de fluido que en un instante determinado se encuentra en un punto del espacio. Dicha masa elemental ha de ser lo suficientemente grande como para contener un gran número de moléculas, y lo suficientemente pequeña como para poder considerar que en su interior no hay variaciones de las propiedades macroscópicas del fluido, de modo que en cada partícula fluida podamos asignar un valor a estas propiedades. Es importante tener en cuenta que la partícula fluida se mueve con la velocidad macroscópica del fluido, de modo que está siempre formada por las mismas moléculas. Las ecuaciones que ri en toda la mecánica de fluidos se o btienen por la aplicación de los principi os de conservación de la mecánica y la termodinámica a un volumen fluido. Par a generalizarlas usaremos el teorema d l transporte de Reynolds y el teorema de la divergencia (o teorema de Gauss) para obtener las ecuaciones en una form más útil para la formulación euleriana. Las tres ecuaciones f undamentales son: la ecuación de ontinuidad, la ecuación de la cantidad de movimiento, y la ecuación de la con ervación de la energía. Estas ecuacio es pueden darse en su formulación in tegral o en su forma diferencial, depe diendo del problema. A este conjunto de ecuaciones dadas en su forma diferencial también se le denomina ecuacio nes de NavierStokes (las ecuaciones de Euler son un caso particular de la ecuaciones de Navier-Stokes para fluid s sin viscosidad). No existe una solución general a dicho conjunto de ecuacion s debido a su complejidad, por lo que ara cada problema concreto de la mec nica de fluidos se estudian estas ec aciones buscando simplificaciones q e faciliten la resolución del problema.. En algunos casos no es posible obten r una solución analítica, por lo que he os de recurrir a soluciones numéricas generadas por ordenador.

La fuerza no atmosférica, es la presión relativa; es aquella presión que no tiene en cuenta la presión atmosférica; la suma de ambas, se denomina presión absoluta; la presión relativa, por ejemplo, es la causada por la propia dinámica del aire, y es básica, para poder diseñar un coche de competición, entre otras cosas, porque la presión atmosférica, hagamos lo que hagamos, siempre va estar presente y no podemos prescindir de ella. Ambas presiones, son las que se encargan de mantener más o menos unidas a las moléculas de aire; de esta forma, al aumentar la presión, aumenta la densidad y viceversa; más adelante, veremos las dependencias entre todas ellas.
