Activity 1: Warm up Aim: Introducing students in the atmosphere of the English class. Procedure: Teacher asks for the absentees. The student in charge tells the absentees. Interaction: T-S Estimated time: 3’
Activity 2: Check up the homework Aim: Be aware of the importance of doing the homework Procedure: Teacher asks the students to open their notebooks and show the homework. homework. Activity 3: Lead in (introduction/opening) Aim: Remember the information given on Past Tense. Procedure: Teacher asks students at what tense were the verbs in the homework and announces the students that they are going to revise Past Tense. Than she asks how do they form the affirmative of past tense, the negative and the interrogative and gives students to conjugate two verbs, a regular one (to play) and an irregular one (to come). Activity 4: Practice Aim: use Past Tense in exercises Procedure: Teacher gives students worksheets. In the first exercise students, in pairs, have to find the past form of the verbs to have, to be, to write, to cook, to play, to visit, to eat, to come, to buy, to want in a crossword. In the second exercise they have to fill in the gaps with the past form of the verbs in brackets. Teacher corrects the crossword. Some students come and write the second exercise on the blackboard. Activity 5: Singing Aim: recognize the verbs at past tense in the song Mary had a little lamb and sing it Procedure: teacher gives students handouts with the song Mary had a little lamb; students underline the verbs in the song. Teacher reads the lyrics of the song and students repeat them. Teacher sings the song and than students sing too. Interaction: T-S Estimated time: 10’
Activity 6: Giving the homework Aim: translate some sentences Procedure: teacher tells the students to do the last exercise on the worksheet at home and marks the students that were active. Students write down their homework. Interaction: T-S Estimated time: 2’
