BAB I PENDAHULUAN
1.1
Latar Belakang
Kemiringan dan panjang lereng merupakan suatu hal dari topografi yang akan mempengaruhi erosi. Sebelum melakukan berbagai usaha konservasi tanah dilaksanakan di lapangan, maka perlu dilakukan pengamatan secara seksama terhadap keadaan sebenarnya di lapangan. Hal tersebut dimaksudkan agar memudahkan dalam pelaksanaan selanjutnya di lapangan dalam melaksanakan usaha atau tindakan-tindakan yang perlu dilakukan dalam kegiatan konservasi tanah dengan apa yang direncanakan dapat berhasil dengan baik. Pengelolaan lahan miring dengan menerapkan kaidah pengawetan tanah pada dasarnya bertujuan memperbaiki dan menjaga tanah agar tahan terhadap pukulan butiran hujan dan kekuatan penghanyutan aliran air, menutup permukaan tanah agar terlindung dari daya perusak/pukulan air, memperbesar daya resapan tanah dan mengatur aliran permukaan agar tidak merusak tanah. Oleh karena itu diperlukan cara tepat untuk melakukan tindakan konservasi tanah diantaranya dengan mengukur kemiringan lahan secara cepat dan akurat agar tanah tersebut dapat ditanam dengan baik dan benar sehingga dapat mencegah terjadinya erosi. Besar kemiringan suatu lahan dapat diketahui dengan beberapa cara dengan alat yang sederhana maupun alat yang lebih modern. Alatalat tersebut digunakan untuk mempermudah identifikasi kemiringan lahan secara mudah dan praktis.

Tujuan Praktikum
Adapun tujuan dari praktikum kali ini adalah: 1.
Mahasiswa dapat melakukan pengukuran kemiringan lahan dengan benar.

BAB II TINJAUAN PUSTAKA
2.1
Peran Pengukuran Sudut dalam Teknik Konservasi Konservasi Tanah dan Air
Teknik konservasi tanah dan air di lahan pekarangan difokuskan pada penanaman mengikuti kontur di alam lorong dengan menggunakan tanaman penyangga (hedge row) row) berupa campuran tanaman tahunan (perkebunan, buah buahan, polong-polongan, dan tanaman industri/obat), sayuran dan rumput pakan ternak. Di belakang lajur tanaman penyangga dibangun teras guludan yang dilengkapi dengan saluran air. Penanaman tanaman pangan dan kacang-kacangan serta rumput pakan ternak dirotasikan secara teratur. Teknik Konservasi Tanah dan Air yang diterapkan di LU II yang berlereng C (8-15%) atau lebih adalah penanaman tanaman tahunan dalam teras tersendiri (individual terrace) terrace) yang mengikuti kontur. Sengkedan dan jalur rorak perlu dibangun pada jarak tertentu yang berkisar dari 15-25 m tergantung pada kemiringan lereng. Penebangan pohon harus dilakukan secara bertahap. Erosi adalah peristiwa pengikisan tanah oleh angin, air atau es. Erosi dapat terjadi karena sebab alami atau disebabkan oleh aktivitas manusia. Penyebab alami erosi antara lain adalah karakteristik hujan, kemiringan lereng, tanaman penutup dan kemampuan tanah untuk menyerap dan melepas air ke dalam lapisan tanah dangkal. Akibat lain dari erosi adalah menurunnya kemampuan tanah untuk meresapkan air (infiltrasi). Penurunan kemampuan lahan meresapkan air ke dalam lapisan tanah akan meningkatkan limpasan air permukaan yang yang akan akan mengakibatkan mengakibatkan banjir di sungai. Selain itu butiran tanah yang terangkut oleh aliran permukaan pada akhirnya akan mengendap di sungai (sedimentasi) yang selanjutnya akibat tingginya sedimentasi akan mengakibatkan pendangkalan sungai sehingga akan mempengaruhi kelancaran jalur pelayaran.

Wilayah Datar
Wilayah ini mempunyai relief datar dengan kemiringan lereng <2% dengan ketinggian tempat berkisar antara 0 – 50 mdpl. Daerah ini berada berada di sepanjang sungai, dataran bergambut dan sebagian kecil di daerah pesisir pantai. Kondisi penutupan lahan ini merupakan hutan rawa, hutan mangrove dan sebagian telah digunakan masyarakat berupa ladang. Luas wilayah areal ini mencapai 2.241 km 2 (12,11%) dengan penyebaran terluas di Kecamatan Teluk Etna. 2.2.2
Wilayah Bergelombang Bergelombang
Wilayah bergelombang dengan kemiringan lereng dominan berkisar antara 2-8% dan berada pada ketinggian tempat antara 0 – 0 – 150 150 mdpl. Kondisi penutupan lahan ini berupa hutan dataran rendah. Daerah ini tersebar di empat kecamatan dengan luas areal 3.610 km 2 (1,95%). 2.2.3
Wilayah Bergelombang Hingga Berbukit Kecil
Wilayah ini menempati areal yang sangat sempit yang berada di Kecamatan Teluk Etna bagian utara, yaitu di sekitar Desa Urubika, Yapima dan Desa Ure. Kemiringan lereng daerah ini berkisar antara 9 – 9 – 15% 15% (0,40%) dengan ketinggian tempat 20 - 800 mdpl, kondisi penutup lahan berupa kebun dan belukar. 2.2.4

Hagameter
Hand Gun Altimeter (HAGA) adalah suatu alat ukur untuk mengukur ketinggian, mulai dari ketinggian yang sedang sampai yang tinggi. Alat ini harganya tidak terlalu mahal dan cukup akurat (sempurna). Kemuliaan di atas dan di bawah mata pengamat dapat dibaca secara langsung dari skala jika pengamat berdiri pada jarak 15, 20, 25 atau 30 m dari pohon. Skala yang sesuai dapat terpilih dengan berputar pemilihan memutar angka telepon pusat perhatian/paling depan instrumen. Ketika digunakan dengan tepat, Blume Leiss mempunyai suatu ketelitian sekitar +/- 0.5 m untuk suatu 20 m pohon jangkung (dengan kata lain sekitar 2.5%).

Pembahasan
Pada praktikum kali ini dilakukan pengukuran lereng menggunakan lima metode alat yang berbeda-beda, hal ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui keakuratan alat dan metode dari setiap alat. Lahan yang diukur kemerengan lerengnya telah ditentukan letaknya dan sama untuk setiap alat. Dari hasil yang diperoleh didapati nilai pengukuran yang beragam dari tiap pengukuran pada alat-alat yang berbeda khususnya pada data pengukuran menggunakan suunto suunto dan juga menggunakan meteran. Pada pengukuran lereng yang menggunakan teodolit digital nilainya berbeda untuk setiap titik meskipun data yang diperoleh tidak terlalu jauh dari data pengamatan menggunakan abney level maupun hagameter diperoleh kemiringan lereng pada titik satu, dua, dan tiga berturut-turut menggunakan teodolit adalah 14,72 0, 14,69 0, dan 14,49 0.
