HISTORY
L&T was founded in Bom bay (Mum bai) in 1938 by two Danish
engineers, Henning Holck -Larsen and Soren K ristian Toubro. Both
of them were strongly committed to develo ping India's
engineer ing ca pa bilities to meet the demands of industry.

Future
Plans
To design, engineer , manufacture and supply axial fans and air pre-
heaters to Indian thermal power plants ranging between 100 MW to 1200 MW. These products form vital com ponents of energy eff icient thermal power plants.
Larsen & Toubro (L&T) contract by the Ministry of Defense for the
design and constr uction of 36 High S peed Inter ce ptor Boats for the Indian Coast Guard. The contract is valued at Rs. 977 crore, and is
among one of the main initiatives being tak en by the government to strengthen coastal secur ity.
L&T is eyeing to participate in var ious upcoming projects in rail
sector such as rolling stock manufactur ing, station redevelo pment, ur ban mass transit systems among others.
Set up plant at Saran in Bihar , which will have the ca pacity to manufacture one lak h (100,000) cast steel railroad wheels per annum.
Larsen and Toubro (L&T) has planned to increase its power
generation ca pacity to 7000 MW in the near f uture, power generation projects to reach a ca pacity of 5000 MW thermal power and 2000 MW h dro ower within f ive ears.
