Theme/Learning Area :Introduction to SPM format (Directed Writing) : Learning Outcomes 2.1a Obtain information for different purposes by listening to spoken texts such as talks. 2.1 j Process information by making short notes and mapping out ideas Learning Objectives : By the end of the lesson, students will be able to:1. link all 5 new words with their meanings. 2. elaborate 2 out of 5 points in the directed writing exercise.
(Prior to the class, students are given an example of section B, Information Transfer and they find the difficult words, and write down the wo rds in the Vocabulary book ) Activities : 1.
Students are shown the Directed Writing question, 35 marks and to be done approximately 45 minutes.

The points for the task are elaborated by teacher and students and they find the meaning of the words as the class goes along.
3.
They are given time to elaborate the first point and share their elaborations to the class.
4.
Teacher guides by mentioning the accepted type of elaborations.
