200.2 Facility A. Breakfast Area Breakfast serving area has a great impact on your guests' attitude in the morning. The setting, food display and overall atmosphere of the area should contribute to creating a warm, welcome start to the day. 1. Location The breakfast area should be separate from the lobby and conveniently located for guest access. The area must be decorated to coordinate with other public areas of the hotel. 2 . Si ze The size of the breakfast area must be a minimum of 10 square feet per guest suite. 3. Buffet The breakfast must be presented on a permanent counter or cabinet integrated in a permanent pantry or "breakfast nook" type setting. Only the approved serving pieces, signage (See Section IV of the Breakfast Manual) and vases of flowers and/or plants are permitted on the buffet. No decorative pieces such as figurines or tip jars are allowed. B. Pantry Area 1. A hand sink must be provided in the pantry area. Paper towels and liquid antibacterial soap must be located at the sink. 2. If a hand sink is not provided in the pantry/prep area, a liquid waterless antibacterial soap and paper towels must be provided. 3. The pantry area must have a fire extinguisher and a stocked first aid kit in for emergency purposes. Depending on the food you serve, additional requirements may be necessary to meet all sanitation and health codes. It is the Licensee's responsibility to ensure adherence to all applicable local, state and federal laws.
C. Furnishings & Seating 1. The breakfast area should offer ample comfortable seating. The 25% rule of the industry - one (1) seat per four (4) guest suites - is required. 2. Breakfast area should be of high quality and resistant to stains, burns, abrasions and abuse. 3. Chairs are an important part of the design and must have fabric upholstery and finishes that create a non-institutional look. 4. Tables are to be commercial grade with high-pressure laminate tops to coordinate with the rest of the breakfast area. 5. The design should reflect a definite theme yet must complement the adjacent public areas. 6. The serving area/line shall have operable doors, shutters or partitions to conceal the serving area/line. 7. Each property is required to make seating provisions available for guests traveling with children. At least one high chair and one booster chair must be provided per property, but more should be available according to the needs of your guests.

nimum size of the polystyrene tumbler is 9 oz. 2. The glasses must be bagged, covered with a top (stancap), or cling wrap. The minimum size of the glasses is 8 oz. The glasses (tumblers) are to be placed next to the ice bucket on the room tray, or in the bath vanity area. Removable Hangers are required in all guest suite closets. Six of the hanger bars are to be non-slip and the other four hangers must have skirt/trouser hanger clips. Hangers must be manufactured from wood or heavy duty contoured plastic; wire or metal hangers are not permitted.

Ice Container: A minimum 3 qt. size insulated ice container with a lid must be placed on the room tray with the tumblers. Paper or cardboard containers are not permitted. Room Tray: A rectangular plastic tray, with a minimum size of 10" x 12", or a round tray with a minimum diameter of 14", must be provided for the placement of the ice bucket and tumblers. The tray must be matched to the amenities package and be located on the credenza or on the vanity.

Ashtrays (Only in smoking guest suites) must be provided. The ashtrays must have a minimum size of either 3 1/2" square or 4 1/2" round. The ashtrays must match and be manufactured of either glass or china. The use of plastic ashtrays is not permitted Matches: Matches are not required in each guest suite, but a supply must be readily available, upon request, at the hotel's front desk. A placard must be placed in each guest suite to notify the guest of the availability of the matches. Guest Stationery: Sheets of writing paper and envelopes are required for each guest suite. The minimum size stationery is 6" x 7", with standard 6 3/4" envelopes. The stationery package shall be located in the desk drawer or in the in-room organizer.
