Here’s another lick using simple arpeggio patterns to build melodies. Vinai works up through an Emaj7 arpeggio (E G# B D#) in measure 1, switching to a more relaxed major pentatonic (E F# G# B C#) over the A chord. For the C#m, he stays with the major pentatonic, but uses a pattern-based pat tern-based approach, again working up through two oc taves.
