NARRATIVE REPORT/EXECUTIVE REPORT/EXECUTIVE SUMMARY SUMMA RY
In line with the campaign of the Department of Education (DepEd) in preparing the school children with the knowledge, proper attitude and skills on what to do in case of a natural disasters like earthquake, Maslog Elementary School conducted an earthquake drill in the school campus last June 22, 2016 at exactly 9 o’clock in the morning for earthquake drills. Mr. Marlon T . All grade levels occupied the designated area for them based on the school evacuation plan.
Before the conduct of the earthquake drill, Mr. Villaluz instructed all the pupils and teachers through film showing, and even parents of what to do in case of a disaster like an earthquake. On June 22 during the morning break t he bell sound rung for one minut e as a signal t hat an earthquake is currently happening. Everybody in their respective classes ducked and covered t hemselves under t heir armchairs and tables. Aft er that, the teachers led their advisory classes in going to the designated evacuation area located in front of the Flag pole for Grade III, IV, V and VI, while in front of school stage for kindergarten and Grade I and II . They were grouped together according to t he class where t hey belong. Then, all classroom teachers did a headcount t o make sure that all pupils are account ed for. The School DRRM coordinator announced the end of t he drill. In summary, the drill was successfully implemented and nobody was injured because the routines were systematic and everybody was cooperative during the activity. III.

MAJOR PROBLEMS ENCOUNTERED
Based on the observation during and after the drill, the following problems were encountered: A. Though the pupils were properly oriented, there were still some of them who did not take the drill seriously; B. There were some teachers and pupils who were seen disoriented and weren’t able to go immediately in their assigned queues; and C. Some classes went out of their respective classrooms a bit later after the siren was sounded.

OTHER INSIGHTS/RECOMMENDATIONS
Based on the overall performance of the School’s Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Committee, the following recommendations are hereby given: A. Some classrooms’ dilapidated ceilings condition in some buildings of the school must be repaired; B. Some classrooms’ door must be converted into swing-out doors; C. Ceiling fans and fluorescent lamps must be inspected if they are still heavily screwed or intact; and D. All classrooms must have a poster regarding Disaster Risk Reduction and Management and must be placed in a conspicuous area. VIII.
