ANEMIA ?
Anemia gizi besi adalah suatu keadaan dimana kadar hemoglobin (Hb) dalam darah kurang dari normal (Hb < 12 mg/dL) dan tidak anemia (Hb 12 mg/dL).

Bagaimana mencegah anemia gizi besi?
Selalu mengonsumsi makanan bervariasi yang kaya zat besi
Tidak minum teh, kopi, coklat bersamaan/berdekatan dengan waktu makanan
Pada remaja putri dianjurkan meminum tablet besi (Fe) pada waktu menstruasi.
Mencegah kecacingan dengan menjaga kebersihan diri, misalnya: mencuci tangan dengan sabun sebelum makan, menggunakan alas kaki
Bahan makanan apa saja yang banyak mengandung zat besi?
Bahan makanan hewani : hati, daging berwarna merah, telur, ikan;
Bahan makanan nabati: tempe, tahu kacang hijau, kacang merah;
Sayuran hijau: kangkung, bayam, daun singkong, dan sawi hijau;
Bahan makanan apa saja yang dapat meningkatkan penyerapan zat besi
Vitamin C berfungsi meningkatkan penyerapan zat besi, oleh karena itu biasakan makan buah-buahan segar sesudah makan.
Contoh bahan makanan yang banyak mengandung Vitamin C adalah: jambu biji, pepaya, jeruk, mangga, dan nenas

Yang Harus Diperhatikan saat minum tablet tambah darah :
1. Minumlah Tablet Tambah Darah dengan air putih, jangan minum dengan teh, susu atau kopi karena dapat mengurangi penyerapan zat besi dalam tubuh sehingga manfaatnya menjadi tidak optimal.
2. Efek samping dari minum TTD adalah mual, namun tidak berbahaya.
3. Untuk menghindari efek mual, dianjurkan minum TTD menjelang tidur malam. Lebih baik disertai makan buah. Misalnya pepaya atau pisang
4. Simpan TTD pada tempat yang sejuk. Terhindar langsung dari sinar matahari. Jauhkan dari jangkauan anak-anak. Tutup kembali kemasannya dengan rapat. Apabila sudah berubah warna jangan diminum.
5. Tablet Tambah Darah tidak menyebabkan tekanan darah tinggi atau kebanyakan darah.
