. 1. The above values represent guideline Allowable Concrete Capacity / Bond Strength working loads based on the adhesive’s ability to bond to solid, normal weight concrete when anchor holes are drilled using the recommended drill bit diameter and properly cleaned. Allowable Concrete Capacity / Bond Strength working load values have been reduced using a safety factor of 4.0 in Tension and 3.0 in Shear, applied to the Average Ulmate Ulmate values. Average Ulmate values values were determined by physical physical tesng of cured adhesive anchor samples using ASTM A 193 B7 carbon steel threaded rods. In some crical cases, such as life safety applicaons, a safety factor of 10.0 or higher may be necessary. Appropriate safety factors must be determined by the responsible, qualied design professional in charge of the actual product installaon. 2. Allowable Concrete Capacity / Bond Strengthworking load values must be checked against against the Allowable Steel Strength values. values. The lowest value governs as the allowable performance value of the anchor assembly. 3. Tabulated data data is applicable to single anchors in normal weight concrete unaected by potenal EdgeDistance and/or Anchor Spacing reducon factors. Allowable Concrete Capacity / Bond Strength working load values are valid for anchors installed into dry, uncracked concrete aer anchor holes are drilled using a rotary hammer drill and carbide-pped dr ill bits meeng ANSI Standard B212.15. 4. In-service temperature condions should remain relavely constant. The maximum recommended long term, ambient and substrate temperature temperature is 122o F (50o C) and the maximum recommended short term ambient and substrate temperature temperature is 176o F (80o C). Short term ambient and substrate temperatures temperatures are those that occur over brief intervals, such as thermal cycling or temporary temperature uctuaons over a 24 hour period. 5. Linear interpolaon of values is permied between published embedment depths and/or between typical concrete compressive compressive strengths. Extrapolaon of values outside of the range of published Allowable Concrete Capacity / Bond Strength working load values is not permied. 6. As in all applicaons, adhesive anchor performance data must ulmately be interpreted, reviewed and approved by the responsible, qualied design professional in charge of the actual product installaon.

Mixing
1. Remove the twist cap from the top of the cartridge. 2. Reach into the opening at the top of the cartridge with a piler or similar tool and pull thetop of the plastic lm upwards to reveal a metal retaining clip. 3. Cut the plastic lm and open below the metal retaining clip with a utility knife. 4. Ensure that both components within the plastic lm are free to ow prior to inserting cartridge into a standard, good quality caulking gun. ‘A’ component is beige in color and ‘B’ component is black in color. 5. Attach the stactic mixing nozzle
l a i t n e d i s e R
Application
6. Begin dispensing the cartridge ’s contents through the static mixing mixing nozzle. Prior to disdis pensing into the anchor hole, the initial portion of material that exits the end of the nozzle is discarded. 7. VERY IMPORT IMPORTANT! ANT! Visually verify that both components are owing through the static mixing nozzle and mixed adhesive presents a uniform Gray appearance and consistency without streaking before dispensing into the prepared anchor hole. Failure to verify a uniform Gray appearance and consistency may result in an adhesive anchor installation that will not cure properly. SURFACE PREP: 1. Generally, the inside surfaces of an anchor hole need to be as clean, sound, dust-free and dry as possible prior to injection of an anchoring adhesive. A clean, damp surface can be tolerated, but an anchor hole should not contain standing water or have droplets of moisture clinging to the surfaces. Drill an anchor hole into an uncracked, solid concrete substrate with the recommended diameter, carbide-tipped drill bit to the desired or recommended embedment depth using a typical rotary hammer drill. If a carbide-tippe d “core” or diamond “core” bit is used and it leaves a smooth, polished surface on the inside of the anchor hole when the core is removed, then surfaces should be scoured and/or proled with a smaller diameter carbide tipped drill bit. 2. Thoroughly clean the hole in the following sequence: Blow Clean x2. Brush Clean x2. Blow Clean x2. Brush Clean x2. Blow Clean x2.
PRIOR TO EACH USE OF ANY SIKA PRODUCT, THE USER MUST ALWAYS READ AND FOLLOW THE WARNINGS AND INSTRUCTIONS ON THE PRODUCT’S MOST CURRENT PRODUCT DATA SHEET, PRODUCT LABEL AND SAFETY DATA SHEET WHICH ARE AVAILABLE ONLINE AT HTTP://USA.SIKA.COM/ OR BY CALLING SIKA’S TECHNICAL SERVICE DEPARTMENT AT 800.933.7452 NOTHING CONTAINED IN ANY SIKA MATERIALS RELIEVES THE USER OF THE OBLIGATION TO READ AND FOLLOW THE WARNINGS AND INSTRUCTIONS FOR EACH SIKA PRODUCT AS SET FORTH IN THE CURRENT PRODUCT DATA SHEET, PRODUCT LABEL AND SAFETY DATA SHEET PRIOR TO PRODUCT USE.
Application
APPLICATION OF PRODU CT/OBJECT CT/OBJECT:: 3. After anchor hole preparation and cartridge set-up, begin dispensing mixed adhesive beginning at the base or bottom of the anchor hole. 4. Steadily withdraw the tip of the static mixer while dispensing, keeping the tip in the adhesive to reduce and/or eliminate air entrapment. 5. IFill anchor hole until half to two thirds (1/2 to 2/3) of the way way full. Stop dispensing. Release trigger pressure from caulk gun. Scrape tip of static mixer along inside walls of anchor hole to clean tip of excess adhesive while removing.
l a i t n e d i s e R
Application
6. Insert clean, contaminant-free steel threaded thread for anchor installation or clean, rust-free steel rebar for dowel installation. installation. Twist hardhardware while pressing into adhesive-lled anchor hole to ensure thorough wetting of the threads or deformations, and set to full embedment depth. Quickly adjust and position hardware to nal location prior to published Gel Time. 7. Insert the clean threaded bar, free from oil or other release agents, to the bottom of the hole using a back and forth twisting motion ensuring all the threads are thorough ly coated. Adjust to the correct position within the stated working time (see table on page 1). TOOLING AND FINISHING: 8. During insertion of anchor hardware (i.e. steel threaded rod or steel rebar) uncured anchoring adhesive will displace from the entrance of the anchor hole. Installer may opt to smooth the uncured, displaced adhesive around the hardware with a putty knife or similar tool to seal the anchor hole from future moisture inltration. Uncured, displaced adhesive adhesive can also be wiped away with a rag or paper towel and discarded. This option is typically typically taken when a xture will later be mounted with nut and washer onto a steel threaded rod installation.
9. Although still considered good practice, removal of displaced adhesive typically is not critical or necessary when rebar dowels, whose purpose is to permit future concrete placement, are installed. Displaced adhesive that is allowed to cure can only be removed mechanically (e.g. light handheld hammer strikes to chip away).
- Based on actual ambient and substrate temperature conditions, allow sufcient Cure Time to elapse, leav ing adhesive undisturbed prior to loading the anchor. - For steel threaded rod installations, attach xture with a nut and washer. To avoid breaking the fresh bond created, be sure not to overtighten nut beyond the recommended
