The %angro)es in the area that -as assigned to the groups -ere situated on )er* dr* land a &e- %eters &ro% the shore and the residential area. (pon ad)ice o& the acco%pan*ing &acult*, the 6uadrat %ethod -as not used &or sa%pling in the said area. A 7 %eter transect line -as %ade using a plastic t-ine prior to departure d eparture to Bolinao, Pangasinan. The transect line -as %ared using an electric tape at 7 c% inter)als, as -ell as at e)er* %eter inter)al 8* using a gold *arn. A !9%inute 8oat ride -as re6uired to reach the assigned sa%pling site :site ;<. $uring the &ield-or, the transect line -as laid do-n at three rando%, reasona8l* distant positions on the %angro)e sa%pling site in order to assess the area. rganis% occurrences -ere noted &or co %putation o& indices o& di)ersit* and do%inance.
