Project Information Given the necessary tools, equipment and information, you are expected to perform the following practical works. The assessor should ask oral question on which he/she is not satisfied by the candidate's performance Assessment venue: The assessment should tack place on a well equipped assessment center (Total time Allowed for all project:- 4hrs)
Project 1: Disassembling and reassembling a computer (UC 04, 06, 07 & 08) On this project you should perform disassembling and reassemble tasks. (Total time for this projects: 40 minutes)
Task 1: Disassemble and reassemble the CD-ROM, RAM and BIOS battery of your (UC 04 & 06) computer Under this task, you are provide with a functional computer and you are expected to disassemble the device listed above. Following the standard computer maintenance procedure (Time allotted: 20 minutes)
Task 2: Reassemble back again (UC 07 & 08) Under this task you are going to reassemble the dismantled CD-ROM, RAM, and BIOS battery and make them operational again. (Time allotted: 20 minutes)
Project 2: Accessing and using an internet (UC 02 & 05) On this project, you should access and the internet, browse a specific webpage and bookmark a webpage. You should browse another webpage and make the webpage as a default home page for the browser. You should also download a file from the internet (Time allotted: 40 minutes)
Task 1: Browse and Bookmark a webpage (UC 02 and 05) Under this task you should
browse a specific webpage called "www.erta.gov.et or www.google.com" bookmark this webpage. (Time allotted: 10 minutes)
Task 2: Make a webpage default home page (UC 02 and 05) Under this task you should
browse a webpage "www.bbc.co.uk" make this webpage as default home page. (Time allotted: 10 minutes)
Task 3: Download a file from the internet (UC 02 and 05) Under this task you should
Download a pdf file " A brief history of the internet " from the internet create a folder called internet on the Desktop Copy the downloaded pdf file to this folder internet (Time allotted: 30 minutes)
Project 3: Administrator Network and Hardware Peripherals (UC 03 and 04) On this project, you should crimp the given UTP cable with the appropriate crimping color code. Connect each computer to the provided hub/switch with this cable. configure the computer with the appropriate IP address and add the shared printer from the network and print a file from one of the connected computer. (Total time for this project: 1 hr )
Task 1: Crimp a give UTP cable and test it (UC 03 and 04) Under this task you should crimp the UTP cable with the appropriate crimping color code. (Time allotted: 30 minutes)
Task 2: Connect computer and hub/switch with those cable (UC 03 and 04) Under this task you should connect the two computers to the provided hub/switch using the prepared crimped cable. (Time allotted: 10 minutes)
Task 3: configure the computer with appropriate IP address (UC 04) Under this task you should
configure the two computer with IP address set any other appropriate network configuration so as the two computers communication each other (Time allotted: 10 minutes)
Task 4 : Add a shared printer from the network (UC 03 and 04) Under this task you should
Install a printer on one computer and share it share the folder "internet " which you already have created on project 2 task 3 add a shared printer from the network on the other computer and printer first page of the shared pdf file (Time allotted: 10 minutes)
Project 4: Operating a Database (UC 01) On this project, you should create a Database called "ABC Hospital" with the given requirement (Total time for this project: 1:40 hr )
Requirement ABC Hospital need a database for maintaining the hospital detailed information the Hospital need to maintain patient and Doctor information in separate table. Patient Table has the following attribute PID as Patient ID, P Name as Patient name, Age, Sex, DID as his/her Doctor ID, DOE as date of entrance. Doctor Table has the following attribute DID as Doctor ID, D Name as Doctor Name, Spy as a specialization.
