I have found every issue till June 2007 are very good and its coverage and quality of articles are great. Particularly, I liked Sri Kuppu Ganapathi Ji's article(s) on the "Matters controlled by Bhavas" published in Mar / April 2007. As they are so fundamental to Jyotish. Mr. Sivadhasan Ravi’s chart is calculated in the K.B. method and given below. Further, the 12 bhavas and 9 planets interlinks tables are given here to the readers, to understand easily. Now, we try to analize the chart according the base of the various questions. 1. How is the Health? Lagna bhava sub lord is Saturn. Saturn is in the Kethu star and Venus sub lord. Kethu is the sub lord of 3, 9 bhavas. Venus is the 11th bhava sub lord. Moreover, the Lagna sub lord Saturn is the sub lord of 4, 7,10th bhava also. Here the Saturn’s sub lord is having favorable bhavas (Venus 11th) to its star lord (i.e3 and 9th bhavas). So, the 3, 9 bhavas gets strengthen and make weaken the Saturn’s 4 and 10th bhavas. So, the lagna bhava strongly inter-linked with the 3, 7, 9 and 11 th bhavas. The above indicates bahvas are good to the lagna bhavas and gives good health to the lagna. So, his physical body, mostly, is in the healthy condition. So, the lagna bhava Fate supports to be a healthy physical body. A person often and often may affect by the disease (6th bhava) if the lagna bhava connecting with the 6, 8, and 12th bhavas. Through the disease, a person may get the pain and disturbance (8th bhava) and the 12th bhava indicates that the physical part will affect and inactivate by the disease. These incident happen to the lagna, Here, the lagna bhava is not connected to the 6,8,12 bhava. So in any manner, the person can’t affect any long time disease in his life. But in this chart, the lagna bhava is strongly favored to the health condition. This case study analyses my daughter’s sickness who was down with viral fever recently. On the third day of the sickness when the condition was worsening, I had the anxiety to find out with the question “When will my daughter recover from fever?” In pursuance of the above, a prashna chart was casted on Dec 15, 2007 at 18-41-57 Hrs at Bangalore. Since, the query was related to my daughter, the chart was rotated to 5 th house. The rotated chart is produced herewith. The chart is being analysed as follows: The co-ordinates of judgment

In reference to the patient, treatment, recovery and the doctor, there are some houses that become important for the patient as follows. a. The patient and his scope of longevity is indicated by lagna and in case if the dangers are seen ahead, the 8-3H of longevity need be examined vis-à-vis the 2-7H (maraka houses) with badhaka connection. b. While, the diagnosis of the disease requires the scrutiny of 6H, the 8th house sees the possibilities of the complications. c. The recovery is judged by the scrutiny of 5H, whereas the 11H could be assessed for the discharge from the hospital. d. On the side of doctor, the 7H indicate the attending doctor. The professional competence of the doctor is assessed by the 4H (10 th from 7th) whereas the doctor’s prescriptions are represented by 9H (3rd from 7th). e. The mutual disposition of Lagna and 7 th cusp decide about the manner in which the patientdoctor interaction would sail. f. The query

Look for the Moon, which gets placed in 5 th house, indicating my worries about her recovery. Since, Moon falls in the 8th cusp, the apprehension of the fever getting chronic was looking as a possibility because of her being in critical condition. My worries on this account were aptly indicated by the position of Moon. The query was reasonably indicating my anxiety, thus it was safe to proceed ahead.

Analysis of the chart

The chart is analysed as follows. 1. Lagna sub-lord Rahu falls in the 5 th house showing the possibility of recovery. Rahu falls in its own star, thus it confirms the signification of the 5th house strongly. 2. Both 3rd and 9th cuspal sub-lord are Saturn and since, Venus as Saturn’s star lord gets placed in lagna, there was no threat of longevity. 3. The disease takes shape when the 6 th cusp connects to the lagna and disease gets complicated, if 8th house gets connected thereby. 6th cuspal sub-lord Saturn falls in the star of Venus that as 8 th lord falls in Lagna, thus connecting Lagna - 6 th and 8th houses. As Saturn does not have any planet in its star, it is strong and its placement in 11th house indicated delayed cure and its conjunction with Ketu indicated complications in achieving cure. Thus, the disease looked to be complicated and indicated late recovery. 4. Look at the 11th cuspal sub-lord Moon that again is a strong planet, as there is no planet in its star. Because of Moon being a fast planet and placed in 5 th house, it suggested a fast recovery. This seemed in contradiction to the late recovery as indicated in #2 above. 5. Jupiter was the cuspal sub-lord of the 7 th cusp (doctors), which as 3 rd and 6th lord was placed in 2nd house in the star of Ketu placed in 11 th house. Thus, the doctors were not to boost the courage of the patient for recovery (2 nd house negated 3rd house indicating the courage of the disease fighting capacity of the patient) and were not helpful to her. 6. Moon is well placed in 5th house and also lords as the 11 th cuspal sub-lord. Thus, it was anticipated that the day when the Moon transits in Rohini star (Venus sign and Moon star), the full recovery could be possible, as Venus gets placed in lagna supports health and Moon supports as stated above. The sookshma dasha was also checked and Mars-Moon-Sat-Moon was found to run from Dec 20, 2007 till Dec 23, 2007. Within this period, Moon was to transit the Rohini star on Dec 22, 2007. Thus, Dec 22, 2007 was fixed as the target date for the patient’s recovery.

The patient was taken to the emergency ward of hospital on the late evening of Dec 14, 2007 but the doctors were not able to reach any conclusion and said to watch for some time and prescribed the palliative doses of crocin. On Dec 14, 2007, Moon was transiting in the sravana star lorded by Moon itself. Since, Moon is placed in the star of retro Mars placed in 9 th house, that was sufficient to suggest that the doctors (7H) were not able to diagnose the problem (retro Mars in 9H).

2. After returning from the hospital, the patient started her own treatment (note that the patient is himself a doctor). The 5th cusp whose sub-lord is Venus represents the recovery. Note that Venus falls in the star of Rahu (the Lagna sub-lord), perhaps suggesting that the patient himself may be useful to herself for recovery. Rahu’s placement in the 5th house, further affirms it. 3. The fever took the shape of malaria, remained very unstable and caused a lot of weakness. 4. The patient recovered after struggling with fever for about 10 days and got fully cured on Dec 21, 2007 without any complication. She took bath on Dec 22, 2007 and got fit for work.

Rule 1-

For long life, Ascendant sub lord should signify houses 1-3-5-8-10

2- For short life Ascendant sub lord should be connected 2-7 and badhak stan (for common sign 7th, for moveable signs 11 th and for fixed signs 9 th house is badhak stan. ) 3- The badhaka houses are houses that are harmful to life, and badhaka houses are considered to be more harmful for life than maraka houses. The badhaka houses are the 11th for those born in Cardinal (moveable) signs, the 9th for those born in fixed signs, and the 7th for those born in Mutable (dual) signs. 4- For death, first consider the badhaka houses, and then the maraka houses as dangerous times for the native, as there is danger to life during the joint period (dasha/bhukti) of the significators of the badhaka and maraka houses, whose lords respectively are Ju/Ve. When assessing death in a KP chart and according to KP dictum, the first consideration is the badhaka, followed secondly by marakas. Bahkahasthana and marakasthanas for Virgo lagna are 7th, 2nd, and 7th respectively: badhaka/maraka Jupiter, in addition to maraka Venus. Her natal 7th falls in the star and sub of bhukti lord, Mercury (who is sub lord of lagna) and in the sub sub of natural lord of death, Saturn. Marriage is an important landmark in the life of an individual. But unfortunately, in some cases the first marriage gets annulled on account of divorce or the death of the first wife and the concerned person goes in for a second marriage. I am presenting a study of one such case for the benefit of the readers. Attached herewith is the horoscope of the gentleman who married a second time after the demise of his first wife after prolonged illness. The rules laid down in K.P for second marriage are set out below:

Rule-1( as given in Reader VI) Second marriage is indicated if the following two conditions are simultaneously satisfied: i) The sub-lord of the 7th cusp is deposited in a dual sign or in the constellation of a planet in or owning a dual sign or if the sub-lord of the cusp is Mercury. ) ii) The sub-lord of the 7th cusp is also a significator of either of the housed 2 or 11. If any of the above two conditions is not satisfied, then second marriage is denied. As per K.P. the dual signs are Gemini, Sagittarius and Pisces only. Our editor Kanak Bossmia has undertaken a thorough research on this particular question and has arrived at the result that Jupiter, a planet owning two dual houses can also be considered along with Mercury for the above rule.

Rule-2 (as per Reader IV) Just as we judge the first marriage by looking into the 7th cusp, second marriage is to be predicted from an analysis of the 2nd cusp. If the sub-lord of the 2nd cusp is connected in any manner to the seventh, then second marriage in that particular case is a certainty. Rule-3 As stated already our respected Editor has researched into the question of multiple marriages by studying a large number of charts and has given his findings elaborately in his messages in the KPsystem group. His view is that the second wife may also be considered as the sister of the first wife and so second marriage is indicated if the sub-lord of the 9th cusp is a significator of 2 or 9 or 11. Let us now proceed to study the above case to see how far the above rules hold good in this case. The seventh sub-lord, MARS, is not a dual planet by itself and it is not also posited in a dual sign.. Its starlord, Rahu is also not in a dual sign. Hence rule 1 fails in this case. Let us examine the sublord of the 2nd cusp. It is Rahu. Rahu is in 8, its starlord Mars is in 4, lord of 5 and 6 and its sublord is Kethu in 2. Even if we take Rahu as representing its signlord, Saturn, the houses signified by Satrun are 3,8 and 9. It is thus evident that the sublord of the 2nd cusp in not connected to 7 in any manner. Then how is it that the second marriage took place? It is in this crucial context that the principle enunciated by Shr.Kanak comes to our rescue The sub-lord of the 9th cusp is Kethu.
