Chapter ntroduction
Competency in Electrical Installation is important through this the student can &e considered either competent or not competent.'o(adays (ith the program o# TESA)s assessment they (ill train students in their program to help students to ha*e 'ational Competency Certi#icate o# 'CI+'CII+'CIII and up to le*el I%. 'o( that (e are in a , st century students must &e competent and ha*e a (ell de*eloped skill. It is such an ad*antage #or the student ha*ing a 'C certi#icate (ith it they can &e easily employed in their speci#ic o&.As a #uture T"E teacher ha*ing a 'C certi#icate (ill help the researcher to de*eloped the skills o# the students &ecause o# the &ackground kno(ledge ac/uired #rom the training. As a #ocus su&ect the researcher choose electricity it is &ased on his e0perience as a student+ modules or any gi*en hand outs is one o# the pro&lems that most students encounter. Also most students e0perience di##iculties in learning the electricity su&ect. 1hen students are ha*ing some o# hands-on acti*ity like the (ire oints or some (ritten acti*ity in connecting electrical circuit it takes a lot o# time #or a teacher to impart kno(ledge on (hat electricity is all a&out and on ho( to do speci#ic task in learning electricity. Electricity can &e considered #rom t(o points o# *ie(. The scientist is concerned (ith (hat happens in an electric system and seeks to e0plain its mysteries. The engineer accepts that electricity is there and seeks to make use o# its properties (ithout the need to #ully understand them.2 Electrical Technology 3th Edition &y 4ughes5
This module (ill &e #ocused on electricity competency task)s #or e0ample 24o( to connect Parallel Circuit5 in the module there is a indicated pattern on ho( you (ill connect the (ire that (ill help students guide them as a re*ie(er and also other acti*ity like ho( to assem&le electrical appliance plug in the proposed task-&ased module there are steps on ho( to do 6 Assem&ling Appliance)s Plug7 and also the material that they are going to use in each speci#ic task. The tools that re/uired to &e use in doing speci#ic o& in electricity. 1hen students ha*en)t #ollo(ed the teacher they can read it again through the module so that it can make the students learning easily. As a #uture teacher o# T"E Su&ects through this research the researcher hope that he can make the learning o# his students to &e more e##ecti*e also &y this research it can easily gi*e kno(ledge a&out the su&ect and it can help to #acilitate class easily+ (ithin this module it (ill also help students to &e competiti*e that they can use their kno(ledge #rom this module in their Electrical Installation and Maintenance 2'CII5. 8eating 2,9,5 stated that Competency Based Training is a training that is designed to allo( the learner to demonstrate their a&ility to do something. Also CBT (as used to assess the learners capacity to do the (ork in order to determine i# they meet the industry standards no( that Philippines is no( implementing 8-, Curriculum this CBT (ill help students to &e ready in their chosen #ields+
!ac"ground of the Study
Students e0perience su##ering in studying Electricity su&ects no(adays and also (ithout the help o# the modules it (ill make the students more su##er in learning electricity. Through this study it (ill #ocus on ho( the students and Competency -Based acti*ities (ill make their (ork easily+ sa#ely+ and it consists o# the steps on ho( to do that speci#ic (ork. 1ith the help o# Competency-&ased module students learning (ill &e easy and so that they can al(ays #ollo( the e*eryday teaching o# the teacher. Also (ith this module it can lessen the (ork o# the teacher on e0plaining each task o# students to &e done in that day so (hen students ha*e /uestions in the task that they ha*e to do it (ill &e easy #or them they (ill ust read the task in their module. Many o# students said that Electricity is di##icult #or them and also #rom the e0perience o# the researcher that Electricity is also di##icult. Most o# them can)t #ollo( the task that gi*en to them &y the teacher easily also i# the students ha*e /uestions it consume time #or the teacher instead o# teaching their ne( discussion or ne( task also (hen the task is di##icult it takes a&out t(o meetings to #inish it. Also in our task (e must ha*e a speci#ic tool to &ring &ut not all o# us can a##ord or don)t ha*e a tool to &ring so through this module there is a speci#ic tool to &e used in each task that (ill help the student to &e prepared on (hat tool he!she (ill &ring. In our e0amination some o# us ha*e a re*ie(er &ut not complete so the result most students got lo(er scores so through this proposed per#ormance &ased module #or electricity it (ill ser*e as a re*ie(er #or the students that can also help them to study in ad*ance.
#b$ectives of the Study
This study is aimed to design the Competency-&ased module packet in teaching Electrical Installation and Maintenance Speci#ically+ this study sought to ans(er the #ollo(ing /uestions: .5 Assess the le*el o# Per#ormance o# students studying Electrical Installation and Maintenance ,.5 etermine the le*el o# Accepta&ility o# Module Packet in terms o#:

Significance of the Study
This study (ould &e &ene#icial to the #ollo(ing: %or Students,It (ill help students to do di##erent task in electricity to &e more easily
&ecause o# the guide that is &een indicated in the Competency-&ased module. It can also ser*e them as a re*ie(er i# they ha*e some e0amination or acti*ities to &e done inside the classroom. Through this students can impro*e their a&ilities and learning ha&its and they (ill &e prepared #or their 'C #or Electrical Installation and Maintenance. %or Teachers,In the e*eryday teaching + this module (ill help teachers to make the
students learning easily also this module can ser*e as a guide #or teacher on (hat he!she (ill &e going to tackle through each day o# teaching. %or Researcher, As a #uture teacher this can help me to guide my #uture students i# I (ill
&e going to teach Electricity su&ect. Also it can make my teaching more e##ecti*e #or my #uture students &ecause I already had the kno(ledge (hat Electricity is all a&out. %or &d'inistrator,Through this research administrator (ill get an ideas in ho( (ill
they &e going to apply modules as a kit in teaching electricity and they can easily manage or #acilitate the learning in school. %or %uture Researcher, This study (ill guide the #uture researcher in conducting their
study. Through this it (ill &uild their (ide range o# kno(ledge &y pro*iding necessary in#ormation.
