DECATHLON Here
are some basic rules for decathlon sports:
1. There should be a time gap of 30 minutes between every event. 2. The competitors get only three attempts each in long jump, shot put, discuss and javelin. 3. Automatic timings should be used while timing the events and games. 4. Only three fault attempts are granted to contestants in running events. 5. All measurements should be made using steel tapes and only metric measures are to be used. 6. A minimum of three players is required to start any event. 7. It is mandatory for the athletes to take part in all the ten events. 8. The event score and the total score of each player must be announced after each event. 9. The winner has to score the highest point at the scoring table.
The total decathlon score for all world records in the respective events would be 12,544. The total decathlon score for all the best performances achieved during decathlons is 10,485. World records (WR) compared to decathlon bests (DB) Event

HE P TATHLON HISTORY The heptathlon has been contested by female athletes since the early 1980s, when it replaced the pentathlon as the primary women's combined event contest (the javelin throw and 800 m were added). It was first contested at the Olympic level in the 1984 Summer Olympics. In recent years some women's decathlon competitions have been conducted, consisting of the same events as the men's competition, and the IAAF has begun keeping records for it. But the heptathlon remains the championship-level combined event for women. Jessica Ennis is the current world champion.
HE P TATHLON HISTORY There are two versions of the heptathlon. The first is an outdoor competition for women, and the second is an indoor competition for men.

POINTS
SYSTEM
The scoring system was developed by Dr. Karl Ulbrich. The events are split into three parts, where the scores are counted according to the three formulae: ± Running events (200m, 800m and 100m hurdles): P=a*(b±T) c ± Jumping events (high jump and long jump): P=a*( M±b)c ± Throwing events (shot put and javelin): P=a*(D±b) c
P is
for points, T is for time in seconds, M is for height/length in centimeters and D is length in meters. a, band c have different values for the each of the events. (see table)
