Class H, UL approved (HC 224°C; TP 185°C) - File E 98 511
General description Base : unsaturated polyesterimide resin. Yellowish, transparent VPI resin with stabilized VinylToluene as reactive diluent (Damidil 9151); hot curing with good permanent temperature properties for electrical insulation systems up to and including Class H. Class 200°C in the samicabond® system for traction. UL Recognition File No. E 98 511 : Twisted Pair 185°C, Helical Coil 224°C. The resin 3340 is available in one or 2 components. Supply form 3340-2 is preferred, when ever there are long transport times as well as high ambient temperatures during transport and storage. Application VPI (Vacuum Pressure Impregnation) of all kinds of windings, but specially on high temperature resistant rotating machines; like traction motors. In combination with the porous Samicapor® tapes, machines up to 6.6 kV can be impregnated. Processing The Damisol 3340 500mPa.s is usually processed on VPI equipment (vacuum pressure installations). Using the 2K Damisol 3340-2, the catalyst mixing ratio is 3% Damicat 9015-N1. Usual Curing process on traction or High Voltage machines combined with Samicapor® : 8 h at 150°C. The resin has to be protected from contamination. A regular viscosity check is therefore necessary. The resin temperature should be 20 - 25°C during impregnation. Packaging 20 kg cans, 200 kg drums, 1000 kg Containers. Storage Conditions 12 months at maximum 15°C in sealed containers protected from light and sun. Higher temperature can be reached during short period of time. If storing the resin in a supply tank we recommend keeping the resin under atmospheric pressure, in dry air or nitrogen. It is advantageous not to fill the supply tank completely. The recommended filling level is 70%. Health and safety . Avoid any contact with skin and eyes, . Work in a well ventilated area, far from any flame, . Wear safety gloves and goggles.
