The Summary of Journal “The Role of the Nurse Nurse in Palliative Care Settings Settings in a Global Context” Context” Journal of Palliative Care By Sheila Payne and colleagues, June 2009 This journal examines about palliative care nursing in a global context. Nurse is a key role in coordinating care such as liaising with doctors, health, social care staff, and care provider organizations. Palliative care nursing is very important because it is component of the multidisciplinary team in palliative care. This study shows improvement by palliative care in the quality of life and the emotional cognitive which which is functioning in patients who are cared. Palliative care is good for people who get cancer, HIV and other life threatening conditions. There are three kinds of palliative care; Palliative approach (improve people the level comfort and function in country), Specialist palliative care (improve (i mprove augmentation palliative care with focus, intermittent specific input as required), and Terminal care (care appropriate for the final days or weeks of life). The models of palliative care are included home, hospitals, day care, outpatient, drop-in clinics, hospices and specialist units. Therefore, nurse must have the skill at palliative care. Nurse must be able to respect patients, communicated to them, give them many plans assessment with nurse and patient for palliative care, and convince them about the good condition. Nurse must have skill at palliative care and good at knowledge because because nurse must support them to be alive.
