9/16” Autoclave Fittings and Ports Description The 9/16” Autoclave cone type fittings and ports are the industry standard for high pressure applications. Cameron has adopted the 9/16” Autoclave fitting and port combination on all Cameron wellhead products where test ports are utilized. The Autoclave fitting, preferred by Cameron, contains a plug and gland nut combination, which allows any residual pressure to be vented safely prior to removal of the fitting. •
Dependability — The Autoclave design is an industry standard for its quality and dependability.
•
Pressure — The 9/16” Autoclave cone type fitting and port are rated to 60,000 psi @ 72° F under normal service conditions. (Series CCSS20)
•
Operation — standard operating procedure:
a)
Standing to the side of the fitting, use a 1-1/8”, six point, box end wrench, as not to round off the corners of the gland nut.
C2573
b) Turn the gland nut to the left, counterclockwise. This will allow any residual pressure, in field conditions, to vent through the fitting plug to the atmosphere. c)
Once all pressure has been vented, the fitting may be removed and any necessary operation preformed through the port.
d) Examine the plug and gland nut prior to reinstallation and replace if evidence of wear is present.
