(Note: If you have data on your HDD, your going to need backup it as it will be deleted) How to: 1. Setup your HDD in your PC, USB or IDE (Does not need to be a Sony HDD) 2. Format your HDD (If you can not use uLaunchELF, use WinHIIP set t o "Toxic OS", once done you can set to 28bit HDloader or 48bit HDloacder) 3. Start "HDDRawCopy1.02Portable" - double click on "Double-click to open file" then open the file that haves ".imgc" at the end. - now click "Continue >>>". - Now make sure to click on the HDD that your going to use on your PS2 - If your not sure what the model name of it is, try looking at the "Capcity" and then click "Continue >>>". - Now you'll see "START" click it. - Now it's " Warning" you if your absolutely sure. click "Yes".

If your HDD is less then 40Gb it will stop before 100% but this is ok, as it's only like 10Gb of data and 30Gb of no data.

If you not sure what this is, its more or less like Free McBoot but on your PS2's HDD. Its a way to mod or hack your PS2... just by adding this data to it. It's not hard at all and works on Sony and No-Sony HDD. Plus now we have a 48-Bit var. now! (48-bit is a HDD over 128gb, at first it was only 28-bit.)

can you add bb navigator to this image? :p
metalgearsolid6669 4 years ago
thanks for this it works like a charm
vash32 3 years ago
@shinzaigo, I can add BB Navigator 0.32... but then its not working to be using the 48-Bit (Experimental) var. If anyone one is looking for a copy that is 28-Bit and boots BB Navi. Let me know and make a list of what Preinstalled Applications you'll like to have. vash32 3 years ago
Can a Moderator Delete this? The Dev says it can wreck your HDD. The Dev says it so it most be t rue.
Uther_Dark 3 years ago
nearly ANY mod MIGHT wreck your system.
gembller 3 years ago
Well is that information solid ? I've been using it for about two months now
vash32 3 years ago
@gembller, The dev says it wreck all users HDD and is very P at me for making it. The 48-bit is Experimental so its may not be solid, but the only error I know of is "if using on a HDD more then 138GB it will/may be very slow" I've been using it for for about tow months as well and I see no errors. Its most likely that the dev is does not need anyone going to him if it does wreck your HDD... and all t he $ONY code in it. Kirurishii 3 years ago
I guess I don't understand what you guys talk about.. I have a big HDD in my Phatty, installed HDLoader 0.8c on the HDD and told the Infinity 1.99 to boot from DEV2.. When booting, HDLoader boots directly from HDD and runs in less than 20 seconds. Not a single fail yet, and this is now running for more than 2 years now. Next step is prepping a "new" phat using a SATA drive of 1.5TB.. Although.. I've read on some other forum that the brand, model and type of the HDD could make a huge difference. I use one that\s not on any known compatibility list, but runs like a charm, no slow-mo what so ever. GoldenAxeWarrior 3 years ago
Kirurishii, I've always had a great experience with the 48-bit version here, as noted in vash's last post, " Its most likely that the dev is does not need anyone going to him if it does wreck your HDD... and all the $ONY code in it. ", basically he was saying if something does go wrong it's not his fault vash32 3 years ago
Happy that is working great for you, but I'll like to let you know that POPStarter is block on it, as i ts 48-bit and POPS is only in 28-bit. You can use POPS-00001 on it but only in 28-bit ( only 138gigs) If anyone needs it, I can make an 28-bit version of the HDD img or just use AKuHAK HDD Img. Thanks for the help and Hope for the best. John_Nake 3 years ago
hi vash32, as first i want to say you are a genius ! I tryed all your stuff, no problem, the usages are very easy for all your stuff, i wonder if you can add a PSBBN English Translated for use with a 48bit HDD. I have a 500GB HDD and if i install the Disk image of AKuHAK the PS2 recognize only 130 GB Please consider my request. i don't know how to access to Partition of PSBBN to translate the Language. Only you can solve this Thank you for your job here. osirisale 3 years ago
Can confirm not useful for SATA drives with the Chinese adapter. If anything goes wrong (like jumper has write-protect on) just rebuild MBR with Active Partition recovery or the like. If your drive stops recognizing full size, just scan/repair drive structure with WinHiip and it'll reappear. osirisale 3 years ago
Works great on 40GB retail drive. Only issue is it says any partition I create with evilULE is corrupt. What am I doing wrong? Any ideas? I'd like to add SH1 PS1 and more ELFs.
vash32 3 years ago
@osirisale, Happy too see someone other then me that uses a Retail HDD. Any new partition will be seen as corrupt data. If the Icon, Delete Icon, Name, and so on is not done. Adding this info can be hard, Try AKuHAK's reworked HDL_dump 0.9.1 for that as its the fastest way. If you need any help, try PMing me and I'll try to show you. (how it works)

Does this work a TEST Debugging console? I know fmcb does not work on them
vash32 3 years ago
@krisk77, Its using a modded var. of Sony's own update for the Browser and the Apps are setup more or less like FFXI (Sony HDD Only Game)... so if the TEST model is setup to see the Browser 2.00 update, they I'm sure it will work. Try it out and let us know. (Mostly for other TEST console users) Also if it does not work, try out AKuHAK HDD Img. Arnold101 3 years ago
please can you add BBN to it???? thanks!!

@vash. Sorry i'm late with a reply. Just to confirm that this and the link you gave dont work on debugs. I get black screens on boot.
ZX81v2 3 years ago
@vash - HDLoader0.8c is 48bit supported if HDD is bigger than 136gig
vash32 3 years ago
@krisk77, I'm sorry it not working... maybe it does not have the same setup for HDD... or maybe it need to be done just like a SCPH-10000 & 15000. Needs data on MC to boot HDD. Also if you may like to try out, 48-Bit HDDOSD 1.00J (Browser 2.00 Update) @ZX81v2, Yes.. I think (if not just download the 48bit var. and rename it EXECUTE.ELF and copy to PP.HDL) Also try out, 48-Bit HDDOSD 1.00J (Browser 2.00 Update) It most likely batter then this one. (I'll tr y making a HDD dump of it soon as I can / have time.) kaz321123 2 years ago
I'm going to be trying this out today on my 1tb sata with sata network adapter. I'll write back and tell you all how it goes I know my sata network adapter works in hdloader, but the games don't show up in OPL. I don't know why-so I'm trying this setup to see if I can get it to format correctly. reddragon105 2 years ago
First of all - thank you very much for this! I have had a softmodded slim PS2 (FMCB) for a few years but I've just exchanged it for a fat PS2 so that I can play games from HD smoothly and I used this to set it up. I do have a couple of questions though 1) You say to format using "WinHIIP set to "Toxic OS", once done you can set to 28bit HDloader or 48bit HDloacder)" I have a 500gb HD so I need to change to 48bit to use all the space, right? When do I do this? I formatted using WinHIIP with ToxicOS, then copied your image over, then went back to WinHIIP > Options and changed 'Override Application Mode' to 48bit. Is that what you meant? 2) What's the easiest way of installing apps with HDD OSD? I would like to update OPL to v0.9.2 to run games from HD and have FMCB 0.93 install files in case I need to install that. I would also like to install POPStarter for PSX games. xdarkmario 2 years ago
hey i was wondering if you can mirror this download to mega.co please i cant download from cloudstor download takes 2 hours and the download keeps getting network error after a couple of minutes

Works with my seagate 160GB, Great upload. Will you show us how you put gradius gaiden on
vash32 2 years ago
@Defx, You can try using POPS-00001 for adding games or POPStarter 13.
Defx 2 years ago
@vash32 Will do, thanks
UbiqMonk 1 year ago
I followed vash's instructions and although the drive looks intact and as described from winhiip, ( "You'll see, "__mbr" "__system" "__sysconf" "__common" and some PP."), I do not have a hdd icon or browser v2.0 when I boot ps2 from hdd. what am i doing wrong? how do i set it up for 48 bit? GillBert 1 year ago
@UbiqMonk: Do you have a FMCB memory card connected on the PS2? Is your PS2 hard modded?
Defx 1 year ago
@UbiqMonk: Make a thread in the forums
UbiqMonk 1 year ago
@GillBert: I have fmcb 1.8 but it was not connected when I tried to boot from hdd osd. I have a 320 G seagate hdd that worked fine with fmcb. But fmcboot was unstable when I tried to copy games to the HDD so I wanted to try hdd osd.
vash32 1 year ago
@UbigMonk, I'm not sure why its not working, If it was me I'll trying adding FHDB 1.9x to the HDD to see if that helps.

However you say that FMCB was unstable when adding games to HDD, sounds like lot like a problem my school friend got on he's old fat SCPH-50001. HDD & Network part stopped working... something on the PS2 motherboard gone bad, that's all I know. See if ULE will see the HDD, if it does not see it, then its your PS2 & not the HDD setup. GillBert 1 year ago
@UbigMonk: FMCB has nothing to do with transferring games to the HDD.
