Table 6 contains specific ratings for each circuit and other data that is useful when planning field wiring. The Wiring Compatibility Matrix covers the requirements when multiple circuits share the same conduit or raceway. raceway. In all cases the wiring must comply with all local and national codes. Table 1 shows the allowable resistance to ensure no more than a 1.5dB loss in the wire for speaker circuits. While a 1.5dB loss does not represent a significant loss in sound pressure level, it cannot be used to guarantee acceptable sound pressure in all cases. Table 2 lists the typical resistance for copper wire at 75 degrees Celsius per NFPA 70 Table 8. The stated values are for a single conductor. If a more precise value is desired, contact the manufacturer of your cable and obtain the value for the specific cable being used.
Use of existing wire is allowed (provided it complies with the requirements of this guide) - pending approval of local AHJ. The use of multiple circuits, even of the same type, within the same jacketed cable is not allowed. When existing wire is to be used, it is recommended to conduct a wiring survey to determine the quality of the existing wire - prior to committing to use the wire.
