FROM THE CRADLE TO THE GRAVE TEA Review Tea by Saki is the short story of James Cushat-Prinkly, a young gentleman who is on the lookout for a life
companion. After inheriting “a comfortable little legacy it really seemed the correct thing to do to set The “woman-folk of his family settle for Joan about discovering someone to share it with him.” The Sebastable, “the most suitable woman in his range of acquaintance” to become his wife. !n his way to Joan"s house, James reali#es that he woul$ arri%e &ust in time for the afternoon tea. As he “detested the whole system of afternoon tea,” James stops by 'ho$a (llam"s (llam"s place, place, “a sort of a remote cousin,” where where he has a great time.
My summary: The author author gi%es us two points points which are %ery %ery actual in our time) blin$ blin$ following following tra$itions an$ making $ecisions o%er society an$ family*s pressure. 'especting the concept of tea in this story, we coul$ see how James base$ one of the most important $ecisions of his life &ust on the way one person $eal with the tea ceremony, an$ + think, broa$ly speaking, that makes the tea an ironic way to show us how noob we coul$ be sometimes. +s like basing your points of %iew of people &ust because their taste in music. The story isn"t isn"t about te. Te is the key key of the irony irony locke$ locke$ insi$e it. The ending: +t was uite pre$ictable en$ing. The “rebel scene against the family is ob%ious going to lea$ him into a sa$ en$ing, an$ also he future wife ha$ shown earlier being intereste$ in his money, so there is not much to a$$) Any precipitate $ecisin will cause problems.
