Here I met a man called Mark (who I’d heard very good things about); including that he loved to tie people up. I smiled at him and asked: “Excuse me? If you’re not busy would you like to tie me?” His answer was: “Hell yeah!” I soon discovered the magic beneath the strands and Mark has been tying me ever since. Together we have perfected our own unique style of Japanese inspired rope bondage. I fast became known for my signature rapid transitions and acrobatic manoeuvres in rope suspension, and earned the local nickname of ‘flygirl’, which stuck - and has followed me all over the world. Mark has always believed in the importance of spending time with people of interest for inspiration and has tied many times with his friend Hajime Kinoko, after accepting an invitation to perform at the inaugural Toubaku in 2011. Most recently Mark and Nawashi Kanna have shared quality time together exploring rope forms, to further embed the Akechi Denki traditions in Marks’
rope style. Mark has also spent time tying with Yukimura Haruki and both have similar beliefs regarding erotic rope energy. I then started mixing Shibari into the gigs that I would do with my band, Kalra, using ties that I remembered seeing in SM clubs in Tokyo and Osaka. As the Shibari accompanied the music, I realized that the pacing of my Shibari needed to match the music, and so modified the ties, streamlining them and making them more efficient. In 2003 I began to run an SM Bar in Juso, Osaka; the daily shows gave me a chance to practice my shibari repeatedly, for the subsequent 7 years. As well as performing in shows throughout Japan, I have also performed overseas. On most nights when you’ll find me at the Vampire Squid, a dive bar that I own just under the train tracks in Kobe, Japan.

Combining that safely with rope is a set of skills that often differs from most people’s standard roping style. Please wear clothing that allows comfort and access to the body. Much of the time, bondage is about improvisation and letting the rope just flow - whether that be for the entirety of the tying or just a way to get rid of excess rope. This class will cover basic concepts of rope that you can use when playing to create stable, restrictive, and/or beautiful ties without following a specific pattern. What to Bring: Requisite Skills: Knowledge of one and two column ties, basic safety considerations Level: Intermediate Presentation Type: Demo

Hillbilly Hojojitsu is the years old non traditional art of BossBondage; combining the tight rope and rough capture of hojojutsu with rough body play, take downs and body control, and mixing them all up in a pot with the hillbilly arts, creating one mean and nasty torturous experience not to soon be forgotten. This style of futomomo is tied using cuffs instead of the traditional wraps down the leg (similar to the cuffs in the TK portion of the hojo hishi). Hence this is a natural addition when completing a full body tie.
