1) INTRODUCTION

The report says about the health and safety inspection of the ork place of CIFNET construction site' and the elfare facilities at 8CIFNET* in Cochin. The inspection conducted "/th ;anuary "91(. 7ork is carried out by more than (99 employees. I conduct inspection in building construction having three floors and inspection carried out in all the floors' storage area' different fabrication shops' elfare area etc. 7hile inspection noticed that many of the ha-ards may cause even death and the orker does not kno about the ha-ard and conseuence about the ha-ard. The inspected area is busy ith drilling' cutting' manual handling' cement mi%ing etc. 2) EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

There have no serious accident noticed yet even though have some ha-ard remains there in ork place founded that the elfare facility not effective there in ork place and no action ere held in ork place to ork place. 1.
3) MAIN FINDINGS

It is noted that during the inspection the authority try to maintain the uality of materials used for the construction of building. =ere is mentioning about the main five findings of inspected.

3.1) MANUAL HANDLING ISSUES

Improper manual handling is one of the important issue find in ork place and this can cause very serious in!ury like back pain and 6,>. For reducing the risk immediately ork to be stopped and advise orkers about risk. + trolley should be purchased for this purpose' hich may cost around 19999 3s?&. This ill benefit the company in many ays like reducing the absenteeism of orkers due to in!ury. Fail to protect the orkers from manual handling in!ury is a violation of I<# convention C1/0 article ". Enforcement agency can take action for this.

3.2) PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENTS

7orkers not using PPEs is important issue in ork place. This can cause accidents and get in!ury. For reducing risk immediately stop ork and provide PPE to orkers like helmet' body suit' goggles etc. PPEs may cost 199999 3s?& to all orkers.
