CHECKLIST FOR PIPING ISOMETRICS INPUT REQUIRED 1. 2. 3. 4. 5.
P&ID of those pipe lines Line list Piping layout Piping material specification Construction piping isometrics supports marked layout also
PIPING ISOMETRIC DRAWINGS CHECKLIST 1. Fix the north positions 2. The isometrics drawn to not to scale 3. Mention the dimensions parallel to the pipe line (aligned dimensions) 4. Mention the elevation and centre line of the pipe 5. Mention the pipe line tag numbers 6. Reference position ( like column, beam, wall, equipments with coordination as needed) 7. Bill of materials reference (part) numbers for each components 8. Mention the piping branch connection & continuation 9. Mention the pump nozzle, vessel nozzle connection 10. Mentions the equipment No., nozzle No., flange connection elevation (FOF,EOF) 11. If one pipe line drawn in more than one sheet means must be mentioned the sheet reference numbers and continuation reference numbers 12. Mention the continuation line in dotted that bill of materials doesn’t include in isometrics that components must include in continuation isometric sheet (refer flow directions) 13. Flow direction 14. Insulation, insulation thickness 15. Pipe tracing (electrical /steam tracing) to be denoted 16. the BOM sheet use to be serial no, components quantities, dimension size, materials weight material specification (like materials, dimension, ASME B 36.10 Pipe dimension standards , ASTM A 106 Gr B this is chemical composition standards) 17. Autocad / Esapro follow the different layers for pipe line, dimension, tag, and letters. 18. Stress Iso shall be includes design temperature, design pr, operating temp., operating pr, hydro pr, materials. 19. Stress Iso shall be excluded BOM. 20. Drawn the slope as per P&ID and piping layouts 21. incase of reference taken from adjacent pipe line means that adjacent pipe line tag should appear completely. 22. (a) for stainless steel pipe supports trunions special class (b) all other spec. pipe supports trunions are as per line class 23. Pipe supports should not be provided with in the spool piece removable area 24. P&ID numbers in the isometrics should be from origin P&ID numbers

Note on safety valve outlet line going to atmosphere (End to be chamber 45 ‘ downwards ) for wafer type butter fly valve/wafer type check valve, special (extra) length through bolts to be used For commissioning Temp, strainers not to be included in the MTO list (i.e Temp, presu, strainer supplied by commissioning contractor) anubar type flow transmitter in the isometrics as per instrumentation recommendation only hole to be provided on the pipe and orientation has to be mentioned revisions comes in the isometrics properly clouded the particular portion & put revision symbol ∆ Process vent/ drains, Hydro test vent & drains for modeling Lucite standards to be followed IFC issue back drafting level after updating of all comments designer to take iso print out and through the iso’s , all previous items are properly appearing in the isometrics drawing (a) Pipe supports to be moved through MDS only. Not by using move commands (b) don’t use out spec. comments branch connection to be checked with the branch table For all valves normally (by default) reduced bore ball valves are used. if full bore ball valve are mentioned in P&ID for ductile & malliable iron double flanged type butterfly valves flat face flanges to be used wherever mono flange used for INST. Tapping extra bolt length to be used as per INST. Recommendation wherever extended spindle valves in the isometrics, spindle length to be indicate in the isometrics wherever chain operated valves isometrics chain length to be indicated in isometrics standards colors codes for checking isometrics; Yellow for correction Red for addition Blue for deleted items Green for information the MTO column fabrication/ erection split-up to be properly checked comments from stress /supports/inst/ MTO to be properly checked for line size 1 ½ “ & < 1 ½ “ field supports to suit at site ( notes has to be indicate ) valves special notes : LO-LC – lock open/lock closed to be marked in iso for small bore particular piping add note : contractor and FW construction shall verify route and modify as necessary to suit site condition ( refer doc) fluid codes: WCS /WCR , RF, WD, WP,AI,AS,AN,GN,AM note for actuated valve size 1 ½” and below “ as actuated valves are heavy, adequate supports shall be placed either side off the valves close vicinity” safety valves inlet line extra bolt length has to provide
