1. SCOPE
This construction procedure covers requirements for the installation of Junction box in Saudi Kayan Olefins Project. This procedure describes installation techniques and different requirements to be adhere during execution of Junction box installation work. It intents to co-relate and control all the tasks needed to be done in order to get a satisfactory results. 2. PURPOSE
The purpose of this procedure is to ensure all the installation shall be carried out in a neat, efficient and workmanlike manner, assuring satisfactory / proper operation. The work shall be in accordance with the requirements of the project specifications, and shall fulfill their true intent and meaning. 3. REFERENCE

5. RESPONSIBILITIES
5.1
Project Manager / Construction Manager The Project Manager / Construction Manager is responsible for the proper implementation of this procedure.
5.2
QA/QC Manager QA/QC Manager is responsible for the implementation of all required quality control activities and inspection for this particular job.
5.3
QA/QC Engineer QA/QC Engineer is responsible for the proper carrying out of the inspection respective to this procedure.
5.4
Electrical Manager Electrical Manager will be coordinating with concerned personnel at site, plan the daily work schedule, allocate the job to concerned supervisors, and controlling the installation works in all the areas.
5.5
Electrical Supervisor Electrical supervisor is responsible to monitor all day to day field activities, assuring that implementation is as per this procedure and relevant referenced standards and as per HSE policy manual.
5.6
Safety Manager / Supervisor Safety Manager / Supervisor will make sure that all the safety requirements are fulfilled prior to start of the job. Job Safety Analysis / Safety Task Assignments will be strictly implemented.
6. TOOLS AND EQUIPMENTS

7. MATERIAL STORAGE, HANDLING & INSPECTION
7.1
Upon receipt of junction box and accessories, it shall be checked with respect to project specification, approved construction drawings, manufacturer catalogue and delivery note.
7.2
Visual inspection shall be carried out to check condition and physical damage of junction box and accessories.
7.3
Damaged material shall be recorded and reported.
7.4
Identification of all junction boxes and appropriate label inscriptions.
7.5
Cable entry details including gland and gland plate provisions shall be checked.
7.6
Store junction boxes at indoor location and protect from weather.
7.7
When outdoor storage is necessary, elevate well above ground and enclose with durable, waterproof wrapping.
8. JUNCTION BOX INSTALLATION
8.1
All junction boxes shall be installed in locations as per approved drawings, ensuring free access for maintenance and no obstruction to other services.
8.2
Junction boxes installed indoors in corrosive locations or outdoors shall be stainless steel or other material approved by KBR/SK.
8.3
All accessories shall be approved type. Junction boxes being installed in hazardous area shall be classed as being suitable for installation in the area.
8.4
All junction boxes supports shall be installed independent of the connected conduit as per the approved drawings. Welding shall be done for supports wherever necessary.
8.5
All junction boxes shall be grounded to the main ground grid.
8.6
All unused holes shall be plugged or capped.
8.7
Any necessary field cuts or welding or any other damage to the galvanized finish shall be repaired with an epoxy based zinc rich paint.
8.8
All conduit threads shall be fully engaged to the conduit fittings or hubs when terminating to junction boxes.

8.9
All junction boxes shall be tagged in accordance with the specification and drawings.
9. SAFETY
9.1
All safety precautions will be taken care as required as per HSE Plan.
9.2
NSH Safety Supervisor shall carry out the safety site inspections to ensure that safety requirements laid out in the safe work plan are followed during and after the installation work. NSH Safety Manager / Supervisor shall review Safety Action Plan and secure Work Permit if necessary prior to start of any activities shall be strictly followed as per JSA.
9.3
Equipment, tools and materials inspection for installation works shall be inspected by NSH Safety Manager / Supervisor prior to forwarding to KBR Safety Department inspection prior to use at site to ensure their safe worthiness at work. The inspection Reports shall be kept for record.
