duty to force us to study hard. We must obey them. They have a lot of experience with the world, so they know how important it is for us to study. If we understand that they love and care about us, we won't be angry with them. They are our parents, not Policemen. Sally : No parent has a right to force us to do what we don't want. We children have rights. We all know all parents love us. But that doesn't mean they are always right or that we always have to obey them. I think we are old enough to tell right from wrong by ourselves. We can think and behave reasonably. I know we will make a lot of mistakes while growing up. Tom : My mom wants me to stop seeing one of my friends because she thinks he doesn't study hard enough and is naughty sometimes. But I don't agree. I like him. We have a lot in common, and I enjoy talking with him. I think I have the right to decide who my friends are, not my mom. Sue : Your mother is afraid your friend is a bad influence on you. She doesn't want you to getlazy in yourt schoolwork, like your friend is. She doesn't want you to get in trouble, like he does. I like to build model airplanes. Doing a good job of it takes a lot of time and care. AIl the pieces are tiny and frail. But when I finish, the plane looks super! Another thing I love to do is collect stamps. I've been doing this for many years. My dad got me started. Right now I'rn trying to have a complete set of stamps from Ireland. Some of them are hard to find, but locating the rare ones is part of the fun.

I love my dog. We have had him since he was iust a guppy. I was very little then to_o. I used to pull his lail because I didn't know any better. I would never do that now, because I know it hurts him. I don't understand how anyone can be cruel to pets or to other animals.

School takes up most of my time. I go there all day, nearly every day. When I le,ave school, I still have homework to do. Then I have to study for my tesls. A11 of this causes a lot of worry. Doing well in school is important. The jobs I get and who my friends are in the future will depend a lot on how well I do in school. So studying is a big problem.
