CM Editor Description • Editing & browsing through actual and planned configuration data • Integrated plan management – For all network elements (BSC, RNC, MSS, MGW etc.) – Parameter mass modification – Advanced search
Benefits • Operator can compare between actual and planned parameters while editing • Find objects that match specified criteria with possibility to set new values only to these objects
CM Editor Network Plans Plans are populated through • Copy from actual configuration Editor features are provided • Copy, paste • Search, replace • Filter
CM Operations Manager Description • Keep Configurator up-to-date with network – Upload actual configuration • Efficient plan-based management – Plan provisioning to network – Export actual data and plans – Compare actual with planned data • Scheduling of operations
Benefits • CM Operations Manager – all operations under control • Comprehensive feedback to all operations
Upload uses • MML upload interface from NEs • XML upload interface as soon as available from NEs Upload granularity • All data of single NE • All data of set of NEs • All data of all NEs • Upload of data subset
Scheduling is provided for automation of routine workflows Time-scheduled execution of operations is possible for all major operations • Upload • Import • Consistency checks • Download • etc. Execution either once or periodically • E.g. daily, each Wednesday 2 am
CM Analyzer Description • Consistency checking for – Planned and actual configurations – Parameter values and dependencies • Possibility to define operator-specific consistency checks • Scheduled start of consistency checks • Automatic corrections of inconsistencies • Automated reporting that can be sent to e-mail address Benefits • •
Detection of planning errors including human errors at an early stage Higher quality of network plans

"Efficient help mode” • Special method which supports a user to enter MML commands in the correct syntax • User enters only a part of an MML command, gets information about syntax and missing parameters online from the NE and continues with entering remaining parts of the MML command • Thus, entering of an MML command is done step-by-step in a guided way Note: "Efficient help mode" is available for R4 Core NEs only
Use case for "efficient help mode" Interrogate states of ETs R4 Core task for CM Engineer • Retrieve ET states of MSC Server MIRA Steps to be executed 1. Select NE in NE Selection view 2. Switch to Output view 3. Enter name of MML command group 4. Evaluate NE feedback for retrieving MML name 5. Complement name of MML command 6. Evaluate NE feedback for retrieving ET parameter 7. Provide name of unit type ET 8. Evaluate NE feedback for retrieving ET types 9. Finalize and execute MML command 10. View NE printout about ET states
Step 3: Enter name of MML command group • Enter name of command group (ZUS) followed by "?" • Press enter • Note: Screenshot shows previous NE printout in Output window
Step 4: Evaluate NE feedback for retrieving MML name • According to NE feedback, the "I" needs to be used for interrogating states • Mouse pointer is at right position for continuing with the MML
Step 6: Evaluate NE feedback for retrieving ET parameter • According to NE feedback, the parameter "ET" identifies the unit type ET • Mouse pointer is at right position for continuing with the MML
Step 8: Evaluate NE feedback for retrieving ET types • According to NE feedback, the parameter value "BOTH" delivers states of traffic and trial units • Mouse pointer is at right position for continuing with the MML
Step 10: View NE printout about ET states • "COMMAND EXECUTED" is displayed in NE printout • Entry in Feedback view is created (no entries are created for former steps) • User can continue straight with entering the next command without mouse click
