LESSON PLAN
TIME: 50min 50min GRADE: XI D TOPIC: Countable and uncountable nouns SKILLS: reading,speaking,writing LANGUAGE FOCUS: definition;exercises LESSON AIMS: by the end of the lesson the students/pupils will be able to know what countable and uncountable nouns are and how to use them correctly in a sentence AIDS: textbook,worksheets,blackboard WARMING-UP: Teacher(T) asks the students/pupils on duty to tell the absentees and writes them in the catalogue;then T checks the homework and the pupils correct their mistakes,if necessary.T asks the children about how are they feeling. ACTIVITY 1 a) AIMS: a) AIMS: to introduce the pupils into the new topic;introduce new structure to create expectations. b)PROCEDURES:T b)PROCEDURES:T asks students if they remember the noun (definition,classification). Then she writes on the blackboard the title of the lesson(Countable and uncountable nous).After that T gives
the definition of the countable nouns followed by some examples;then she writes on the blackboard the forms for singular and plural. After she finish the first part of the lesson,the T gives the second definition,for the uncountable nouns.This time the T must specify that this category of nouns do not have a plural form.Then she gives some examples of uncountable nouns like:money,furniture,information,food,rain,energy,etc).T must learn the students how to use correctly in a sentence this types of nouns,for that the students must pay attention to articles and adjectives.After that T makes a list in which she specify each article or adjective that can be used with a countable or uncountable noun,like(see pages 4,5.) ACTIVITY 2: a) AIMS:acquisition of new knowledge,exercises from the textbook and worksheets. b) INTERACTION:S-S/T-S c) PROCEDURES:T asks the students to open their books to page 46 and read the exercises.The T asks questions to check the comprehension of the students.She asks students to give examples of countable and uncountable nouns. ACTIVITY 3: a) AIMS:to build the plural form of the countable nouns from their worsheets and make sentences with them. -to recognize a countable and an uncountable noun in a sentence. b) INTERACTION: group work/whole class
c) PROCEDURES:T gives some worksheets to every group of students and asks them to resolve each exercises in their notebooks.After that T asks them to read the answers.T answers to students questions and explains any language or vocabulary difficulties. ACTIVITY 4: a) AIMS:to use correctly in a sentence this types of nouns; -to use correctly the articles or adjectives that follows a countable or uncountable noun. b) INTERACTION: T-S c) PROCEDURES: T asks the students to complete with the right answer the exercises from the workseets/textbook,and to choose the correct article or adjectives for the nouns. HOMEWORK: T gives a short exercise for students to give short answers.
