In relation to other Phili##ine languages, languages, Butuanon belongs to the %outhern branch of isaya languages, and the isayan languages in turn belongs to t he %outhern branch of Phili##ines languages (to which the Mindanao, Bicolano, and agalog languages also belong"& he north Phili##ine languages are con)ned to *u+on (e&g& a#am#angan, Pangasinense, Ilocano, the ordillera languages"&
Butuanon is one of the isayan languages& %#eci)cally %#eci)cally it belongs to the %outhern branch of As such, most of the words in its .ocabulary are cognate to the words found in other isayan languages& Its grammatical rules are also similar to its fellow isayan languages %urigaonon ebuano&
