Project Engin eer eer The Project Engineer/ Supervisor shall organize resources to perform structural work activities in accordance to this procedure. He shall ensure that works is carried out in accordance with the ITP and HSE requirements

QC Inspector Inspector The QC Inspector shall assure that all steelwork activities are carried out in conformance with the scope of work and relevant ITP's. In case of any non-conformance, it will be controlled through Non-Conformity Report (NCR) and shall report to QA Manager

HSE Supervisor The HSE Supervisor shall carry out safety surveillance checks to ensure works are carried out in compliance with Contract HSE Plan and shall report to HSE Manager.

6 PROCEDURE 6.1

Fabrication Fabricati on and assembly shall in accordance accordanc e with approved AFC drawings and shall comply with the requirements of KOC-C-007: Structural steel work – Materials, Fabrication and Erection Members shall not be spliced without prior approval of the Contractor. All cuts shall be neat, clean and free of warping, cracking and burrs. Edges and holes shall be deburred and rounded off. Bolt holes holes shall be drilled drilled to their their final diameter. Bolt hole hole tolerances tolerances Bolt holes by means of gas cutting shall be avoided to eliminate elongation of holes and localized heat input. Top rails of handrails, ladder rungs, rails and cages shall be smooth and free of burrs, sharp edges and weld spatter. Page 4 of 6

Dimensional tolerances shall be in compliance with BS 5950 part 2 or AWS D1.1. The fit-up steel shall be inspected for against the AFC drawings / Contractors GA drawings.

DOCUMENT TITLE:
Upon acceptance of fit-ups by the QC inspector, the Fabrication Supervisor shall organize to get the joints welded by qualified welders. The welding shall be done by proper sequence so as to minimize distortion. Welding shall be carried out in compliance with all requirements requirement s specified in AWSD1.1 or BS EN1011. EN1011. All shop welding shall be performed in an area protected protecte d from adverse weather conditions (rain, wind) and air-born dust and sand. Parts to be welded shall be carefully prepared and be firmly held before welding to avoid, as far as possible, warping, buckling and residual stresses. All welded seams shall be continuous. Visual examination for all categories of weld shall reveal no cracks. Discontinuous weld shall not be permitted. Welding, including including details details and and drawings, drawings, procedures, qualification of personnel, personnel, consumables, workmanship, quality testing and inspection, shall comply with the approved AFC drawings, WPS and ITP. The Non-Destructive Non-Destruct ive testing of welds shall be as per approved ITP. Weld Defects Defects like Undercutting Undercutting beyond beyond acceptable acceptable limits, limits, surface porosity, and and crack-like discontinuities shall be removed to sound metal and repaired. Weld profiles shall be as per approved WPS. Prior to painting, all sharp corners, burrs (including bolt hole burrs), weld spatter, slag, weld flux, loose mill scale and other foreign matter shall be removed.
PAINTING All the welded/Fabricated welded/Fabricated steel Structures on clearance clearance of NDT requirements shall be painted as per approved blasting and painting procedure – JPF3-02-MS-162- Work Method Statement for painting of Steel Structures and Piperack. For details refer to the method of statement for blasting and painting for further details.

STORAGE AND TRANSPORTATION •

After the Painting of structural steel has been inspected the material shall be stacked in timber as per material storage and handling procedure approved by the contractor. The material shall then be dispatched dispatched to site in batches as as per site requirements requirements based based on priority and erection sequence. The material shall be loaded on trailers with sufficient suffic ient amount of timber packing and shall be properly lashed to avoid any transportation damage. A packing packing list shall shall be prepared and dispatched dispatched with the material. Also, Also, a soft copy of the approved packing list shall be transmitted electronically to the contractor. Protect from scratch rubbing by by providing providing appropriate appropriate protection.ie; protection.ie; foam, cardboard cardboard etc.
Any damage paint paint due to rubbing during during transportation transportation as a result of improper improper protection of steel or or improper lashing shall be the responsibility of sub-contractor. All of the above activities shall be in line with the approved material handling and storage procedure. 6.6
HSE REQUIREMENTS REQUIREMENTS
HSE compliance will be ensured as per HSE plan & Sub Contractors HSE Procedures. Ensure that correct color code and third party approved certified lifting Belts, Tools and Tackles are used and certified documents shall be reality available at workshop. Workmen will have all relevant PPE like Safety helmet, shoe and coverall as necessary for the job. All hand tools should be industrial type in good condition and tight for the job. First aid kits shall be available at designated locations and certified First aider list shall be displayed. Safety Officer shall monitor the work. Only experienced / skilled personnel shall be deployed for the job. After completion of the activities, the area shall be cleared of all equipment & tools, surplus materials and debris. Insist on Good House Keeping at all times. Appropriate and adequate fire Extinguishers shall be available as per HSE requirements. Crane and other equipment equ ipment used for the t he handling and transf er works shall be properly proper ly rigged.
