This project is a delivery support system which aims to improve instruction. LACs can capacitate practitioner to solve school-based problem to school which come from an idea that problems in school must be solved in school. This is a safe environment to promote collaborations and innovations, hence to work together and plan for action for the identified problems in the locality.
In this connection, Lagao Central Elementary School deemed this is necessary step that our teachers must take to raise children's academic performance in the National Achievement Test and Learning Assessment for Primary Grades and to improve and strengthen the Reading Program of the school.
The objectives of this project/program are as follows:

To sustain commitment in mentoring /sharing of teaching experiences and best practices to improve instruction and outcomes
It is expected that at the end of the program/project the following are achieved:
It is expected that 100% of the participants produce instructional devices, big books , passages, one week lesson plan, activity sheets and evidenced -based teaching strategies.
That 100 % of the participants will realize the importance of LAC session as a safe environment to address the pressing challenge in the school.
That 100% of teachers will review and reflect individually and then work together to produce plan of action for the improvement of instructions which eventually improved learning and outcomes.

KNOWLEDGE LEARNING ACQUIRED/TOPIC
January 15, 2016
Topic Discussed:
Beginning Reading Skills for Non-Readers and very slow readers
Differentiated Instruction
Integration of Multiple Intelligences Activities in the lesson
Week Plan Development
On the first Friday of i-Raise Project, topics were all focused to strengthen more the reading capabilities of our primary grades (Kinder to Grade III). This topic was facilitated by our master Teacher in Grade 5 and the Reading Coordinator of the school, Ms. Jannalyn Detuya. She gave emphasis on how the kinder teachers could improve their teaching styles in capturing their pupil's interest in reading. In their planning and discussion, they have presented the making of colorful instructional devices to help pupils to read.
On the other hand, teachers also shared that in primary grades there were children who were very slow in absorbing lessons and their retention to class discussions are generally poor. On that note, we introduced how Differentiated Instruction, Integration of M.I.s in the lesson and a Week Plan Development help our teachers to be creative in their teaching. At this point, some teachers were very adamant to employ the Week Plan Development. However, they have suggested that instead of making the Week Plan Lesson, it is most effective to their learners the daily planning wherein an instructional devices has been in use. Differentiated Instructions and the Integration of M.Is in the lesson are facilitated by our YES-O Coordinator in Grade III, a Teacher III Ms. Divina Parangue.

Topic Discussed:
1.Computer-Assisted Instruction
2.Seven Literacies
3.Production Instructional Materials
At this session, we focused on the integration of ICT in the preparation of teacher's lesson especially in the making of their instructional devices.
We are very happy that , Sir Richard Agapay responsed to our request in sharing his expertise on the said topic.
We found out that 50% of our teachers need to be trained on ICT. Good thing that the said topic captured the needs f some of our teachers. They were very eager to listen and went home very happy because of the new knowledge they have gained in the topic. Sir Richard, emphasized the use of ICT in the making of stories by using Microsoft Power Point and how it can be added with vocals to make the stories more interesting to the pupils.
Topic on Seven Literacies was facilitated by, Ms.Detuya, a newly graduate of GURO i-Flex, SEAMEO Scholar of the school. She shared to everyone that being a 21st Century teacher, these seven Literacies must be learned and acquired first by a teacher. Our pupils are born in the digital age, they were called ICT savvy. They are more diverse and inquisitive. In order to capture their interest and to teach these kind of learners, teacher must be a practitioner of a 21st century pedagogy.

Topics Discussed:
How do we teach and Assess Mathematics
Production of Instructional Devices
We believe that learning mathematics is equally important to reading; on this note a topic which helps teachers teach mathematics to primary grades is a good point. We are very happy that, MS. Jocelyn Acao, Master Teacher I of Grade III shared her expertise in teaching mathematics to primary grades. She demonstrated to all teachers how number sense should be taught.
It is fun to note, that teachers are also keen in the observation of pupils needs in learning mathematics. They also shared that some pupils have a hard time to process simple mathematical equations. They have the tendencies to rumble numbers and write is in reversed.
Ms. Joy Fernandez, a grade I teacher shared that starting in kinder, teachers should employ colourful strokes in the paper lines to make pupils see more the difference of a number to another and in this way pupils can properly write a number or even a letter correctly.

OBSERVABLE IMPACT TO THE LEARNER'S ACHIEVEMENT/PERFORMANCE
At the end of every session, teachers were very happy to share the observable behaviour elicited by their pupils in the implementation of their acquired learning. They have noted a big difference in the performance and attendance of their pupils to their classes. The following are the observable impact to pupil's performance as shared by their teachers:
Pupils are now active learners. Integration of M.Is is at first tiring and consumed much of the time in the class. But, pupils are very happy and engage more in the lessons.
Attendance of pupils are improving. Some who incurred absences regained their desire to go to school.
Reading becomes the habit of the pupils. They sometimes requested more to teachers to read more stories.
Pupils participation to class is stimulating. They engaged more on active learning activit
RECOMMENDATION/SUGGESTION
We believe that the LAC session we had helped our teachers improve their teaching styles that further addressed the needs of our pupils in increasing academic performance and improving reading abilities.
However, the LAC session started only January of 2016 which consider not enough time to achieve great impact to increase pupil's achievement. It is suggested that this project should be institutionalized and should start at the beginning of the year.
It is also strongly suggest that LAC session should be whole year round activities of the school. This will help teachers come together and shared experiences then further developed solution to address pupil's needs. Production of Instructional Devices weighed much on helping lessons become clearer to pupils, thus a good budget for school supplies must be extended to teachers.
