Section 3: Assessment Brief
Research and produce your report, which will be an analysis of a typical aeroplane pressure pneumatic system. You should specify the aeroplane type and model on which your work is based. The report should contain approximately 1000 words, and no more than 1200, and diagrams as required. You are recommended to use a similar format to the following: i. ii. iii. iv. v. vi.
Title Page (Cover). Table of Contents. Executive Summary. Technical Write-up. Conclusions. Bibliography.
Steps towards achieving this Outcome:
Lay-out of an aircraft pneumatic system. (A basic block diagram of a small to medium sized aircraft which has an APU which will provide conditioning air.) The sources of supply to the aircraft pneumatic system – ground and aircraft. (Diagrammatic and/or written descriptions that accurately detail the systems on the aircraft.) The operation of an aircraft pneumatic system – main and standby. (A description that accurately generalises the operation of the main components within the system.) Pressure and temperature control. (Give a description with reference to diagrams that adequately explain typical systems.) Safety systems. (A description with reference to diagrams that adequately explain typical systems.)
The complete report should be produced in hard copy with a cover which identifies the work and you as the author.
