Fundamental Music of Thailand Thailand is one of the many nations of the world which do not have an extensive recorded history of events including their music. Written records, such as court annals and regulations, in which music may have been mentioned, were destroyed during the war. Sukhothai was the capital of the new Thai kingdom from about 1250 to 1350. Ayutthaya a city farther to the south remained the capital for over a hundred years. During which time there was war between Thais and Burmese. They finally destroyed Ayutthaya in 1767. 2 most popular styles of traditional Thai are: Luk thung/ Thai country music are developed in the mid 20th century to reflect daily trials and tribulations of rural Thai. Morlam is focused on the life of the rural poor. Tonal System of Thai Music It is similar to the pentatonic scale of china. It is composed of 7 tones but the 4th and 7th tones are usually omitted. Polyphonic stratification It means one main melody is played simultaneously with a number of versions and variants itself. Polyphonic term used to describe many lines of music sounding simultaneously. Stratification is refers to layers of simultaneous melodies which are interrelated but are not independent. The variations of the main melody are either fast or slow.

From the different backgrounds of life we come as one, Tall and short, dark and light-skinned but still together we come, For any mistake that may arise we do not point to anyone, Because when we are united then individual weakness is overcome. As the time moves forward and the unity among us starts to grow, Let us hold on to what we daily learn and selfishness may we overthrow, Away from our midst and embrace togetherness with open hands, For this is the main ingredient genuine unity perpetually demands. Let us fully support and offer due respect to the leadership, For this is the guiding rail responsible for sustaining our membership, That as we interact with each other and the rest of the world, We shall focus on synergistic efforts to further increase the end reward.
