It is different for me than other users. I like the PurePaths dashlet the most. This is mostly because (and I can count a handful at times where this has not been this scenario) as soon I open the PurePaths dashlet and sort by response time, there is the problem. Every time. If the PurePaths dashlet pulls up 750,000 PurePaths, I really only needed to know about seven or eight of them. ItÕs absolutely the ability to get a really specific read of what is taking up time. For example, if a webpage takes two minutes to load it tells you why itÕs taking so long. They instrument up from the bottom to the top Ð every piece of code - they have a very perfect read of whatÕs being done, and how long itÕs taking. And, a super nice way of presenting that. Dashboards is one, troubleshooting is another. I come from the monitoring perspective, so the ability to triage quickly is important, and the ability to alert and tell people where the problem is, that's what I really like about the product. [Full Review]
It shows us where the bottlenecks are in our code. It was great to reveal where our code was insufficient or needs to be refactored. The most important thing is that it tells us where the latency in throughput and response time are. [Full Review]

Right now in an AppMon, when you have DevOps teams looking to see where transactions are going through from business transactions, and they want to set up measurements to see how things are. And dashboards - dashboards are extremely important now. Thresholds are important. The website is much more responsive because we are able to quickly pinpoint the worst pages Ð we can be really targeted with where we put our resources. In a lot of areas, one page takes one minute, the next can be ten, then some take one, some take 30 seconds. You have to decide at what point you want to focus, this allows us to find the pages that are really painful for users, and fix those and make them a lot better. [Full Review]

Mean time to resolution is probably the biggest improvement. Also, operational awareness is probably one I haven't touched on too much. I think in the past a lot of teams really didn't have a comfortable feel for how well, or not well, their applications were performing. You would get log files, things like that, just a small amount of perspective. It increases productivity first of all, and it makes our troubleshooting efforts more efficient. We donÕt do the war-room thing, I hate the war-room thing. A lot of the time, when thereÕs an issue, before they can even assemble the war room, IÕm telling them, "Okay, the problem is here, you need to fix this and then weÕre good to go." [Full Review]

I would love to see a better data export, because AppMon's charting capabilities leaves a lot to be desired. The dashboarding capabilities leaves a lot to be desired. There are a lot of times, for example, at my last company, they wanted Dynatrace data in addition to a bunch of other stuff dumped into one place. It was not just performance metrics. The CEO wanted his business metrics in the same place as the performance metrics along with a lot of other stuff. However, Dynatrace could not export... [Full Review]

I haven't had a chance to go through all of it, but I would like to see the ability, from an administrative standpoint, for it to collect statistics. I want to be able to see the servers that the agents are installed on. I want it to be able to start doing collections for me by platform: How many Linux servers do I have? I think that there have been some questionable product enhancements. Over a year ago, New Relic rolled out a new navigation that really disrupted our workflow. It added many more clicks and was surprisingly frustrating. Luckily, that was mostly reverted, but more recently, around six months ago, they redesigned the error reporting page. Over the last year, one of the things we've had a challenge with is, we've used AppMon for so long, people are quite comfortable with it. We had a pilot of Dynatrace SaaS up and running for about a year, trying to transition application teams over to it: "Try this new tool out," - especially at microservices-based applications.
