Back Legs: (make 2) Light grey and dark grey, 3.75mm Hook Hook Starting with Light Grey Rnd 1: MR, sc 6 in MR. (6) Rnd 2: 2 sc in each sc around. (12) Rnd 3: *sc 1, 2 sc in next sc*, repeat around. (18)

Tail: Dark grey yarn Cut three strands 4 strands approx. 5” long. Group 3 strands together, and lay the 4 th perpendicular to them. Tie the single strand in a knot around the group of 3. Fold the group of 3 in half. Braid the group of 6 to the ends. Knot the group. Use the 4 th strand to sew to the rear of your hippo. Flower headband: Make a chain that fits around the hippo’s head. Weave in ends to connect. R1: MR, *ch5, sl st* repeat around in MR (5 petals) FO and sew to headband. Assembly: Sew legs to side of body. Attach tail to back of body. Attach ears to front of head near top. (If you put put them directly on top, top, they won’t show from the front of the hippo) Sew on nose holes and smile s mile if desired.
