Gauge 5 hdc = 1 inch Finished Size (without stretching) Newborn 8-9cm Materials 4.5mm crochet hook 4ply Baby Yarn (I used Bella Yummy) Yarn needle Special Stitches dc2tog – *Yo, insert hook in next st, yo & pull up a loop, yo, pull through 2 lps on hook* x 2, yo, pull through all 3 lps on hook. hdc2tog – *Yo, insert hook in next st, yo & pull up a loop* x 2, yo, pull through all 5 loops on hook. Pattern Notes * Strap may need to be altered depending on size of baby’s foot, to do this simply add more chains for a longer strap and less chains for a smaller strap.
Sole Rnd 1. Ch 11, hdc in 2nd ch from hook, hdc in next 8 ch, 3 hdc in last ch, (working on opposite side) hdc in next 8 ch, 2 hdc in last ch, sl st to 1st hdc. (22sts) Rnd 2. Ch 2 (counts as a st here and throughout) throughout), hdc in same st as joining, hdc in next 8 sts, 2 hdc in each of next 3 sts, hdc in next 8 sts, 2 hdc in each of last 2 sts, sl st to top of ch-2. (28sts) Rnd 3. Ch 2, hdc in same st as joining, 2 hdc in next st, hdc in next 9 sts, 2 hdc in each ch of next 6 sts, hdc in next 9 sts, 2 hdc in each of last 2 sts, sl slst to ch-2. (38sts)
Upper Rnd 4. Ch 2, hdc in each st around, sl st to ch-2. (38sts) Rnd 5. Ch 2, hdc in next 10 sts, dc2tog 10 times, hdc in last 7 sts, sl st to ch-2. Rnd 6. Ch 2, hdc in next 10 sts, hdc2tog 5 times, hdc in last 7 sts, sl st to ch-2. Rnd 7. (left shoe) Ch 1, scc in next 8 sts, do strap (see below), sc in last 13 sts, sl st to ch-1. ch Rnd 7. (right shoe) Ch 1, sc in next 17 sts, do strap (see below),, sc in last 4 sts, slst to ch-1. ch Fasten off and weave in ends. Strap Sc next st, ch 14, sc in 9th ch from hook and ea remaining 5 ch,, then sc in same st as initial sc of strap. Flower Button Ch 3, sl st to form a ring. h 1, dc, ch 1, sl st* 5 times into ring (five petals made). *Ch Finishing Attach flower button to opposite side of strap.
