We thank you for your purchase of AeroSim B787 for FSX. This product will add the B787, Dreamliner of the Boeing Company to the Boeing Fleet of your Microsoft Flight Simulator X. The Boeing 787 is a mid-sized, wide-body and twin -engines jetliner developed by the Boeing. About half of the primary structure of the 787 including the fuselage and wing are constructed with the advanced composite materials. The composite materials made it possible for the Boeing to bring the most advanced jetliner in terms of ecology to the world’s major airlines. Included in this FSX add-on package is 2 variants of B787-8, the one with RR engine and another with GE engine. In the Flight Deck of the B787 for FSX, you can find the Head Up Display in front of you for ease of your hand flying. Press the TERR button on the EFIS and look at the Terrain Map, which comes on the Navigation Display. FMC system of the B787 for FSX is simplified, so that it works with the flight plan that is generated by the FSX flight-planner. Pressing the LNAV button of this aircraft commands the aircraft to fly along the FSX flight plan route. VNAV is capable of displaying the location of T/C and T/D on the Navigation Display. The cabin window of real B787 does not have conventional window shade any more. Instead, the passenger uses the electrochromic window system to regulate the intensity of light coming through their window with the touch of a button at below the respective window. In the virtual cabin of B787 for FSX, the passenger can adjust the tint of the window with the mouse click on the window.

Question & Answer Q1. Instrument panel looks blurry and unclear. A1. Select the graphic resolution of 1024x768 or higher. From the SETTINGS dialog, choose Customize… FSX displays the SETTINGS –DISPLAY dialog box, Under GRAPHIC tab, select 1024x768 or higher from the list under Full screen resolution. (1280x1024 resolution is recommended). Q2. Pop-up windows of the panel do not appear, even if I tried to get them as instructed. A2. Do not use the number key on the NUM PAD. Use the regular numeric key in row, instead. Q3. When landing with 2D cockpit, runway is hardly visible. A3. When flying in the 2D cockpit, set 2D cockpit view to 0.70 ZOOM. Tap the minus key (regular numeric key in row and not the one on the Num-Pad) three times. Q4. Some of the gauges are blacked out. A4. The deficit is known to have occurred in the older version of FSX. Download the Service Pack 1 of FSX from the Microsoft site and install it. Q5. My selection of aircraft from the select menu does not work. A5. This may happen when the previously flown aircraft data remained in the memory of your PC. Exit and re-launch the FSX. Q6. When I lunched the FSX, I get an aircraft with no textures. A6. You will need the video card, which is compatible with Direct X9.0C or later, to get an aircraft with textures. Q7. Aircraft is apt to stall soon after takeoff and it seems to have no climbing capability to any higher altitude. A7. Adjust the amount of fuel to be loaded. Normally don’t fill up to the neck of Fuel Tanks. Adjust the amount to an appropriate level for your intended operation. When full amount of fuel are loaded for the long haul intercontinental flight, try to gain airspeed in the first stage of climb by keeping the pitch lower than 10 degrees.

Q8. When coming close to the airport, the frame rate is desperately deteriorated. A8. Adjust the Scenery Complexity. From the SETTINGS dialog, choose Customize… FSX displays the SETTINGS –DISPLAY dialog box, Under SCENERY tab, Move the Scenery complexity slider left toward very sparse. Q9. VNAV does not work when I fly using the auto-generated flight plan. A9. Crossing altitude at each waypoint is fixed in the auto-generated flight plan. This makes it difficult for VNAV to work properly. Workaround for the problem is explained in the Tutorial. Q10. When VNAV is being engaged, single digit change of NAV CS is infeasible. Only 10 digits change is feasible. A10. While the vertical speed is regulated by VNAV, CRS setting system is hampered due to limits in the system. It may be good idea to finish the ILS CS setting during cruise before reaching the Top of Descent, or VNAV may have to be temporarily disengaged for a short while. Q11. When flying under the control of FSX default ATC, the altitude instruction of controller becomes very fuzzy. A11. The altitude assignments in flight plan are forcibly void for VNAV to function properly. This is a reason for the possible mishap of default ATC controller. Make a request for new altitude to ATC, which could only be workaround for this problem.
