These vocati ons such as farm ing, oc l al
crafts, traditional d ances, local industr ies etc were non-except ion o f K achia. These not on ly ser ve as cul tural heritage bu t as a m eans of livelihood to the rural po pulace. Thus, this thesis "W om en V ocati onal Trai ning Centre" is ba sically and essentially a stud y of local cra fts, local tr aditional e l arn ing spaces limited to K ach ia a nd m odern learning spaces wit h the aim of d eve loping a esign d w ith e ffective space s. The problem with vo cational raining t institutions has alw ays been that of ationa r lising spa ces for the d iverse ac tivities takingplace alm ost simu ltaneously th us sati sfying the user s's need s, in term s of space,
co mfort privacy etc.
