Supervisor Registration In order to register all employees at the WalTer, the Supervisor has to register first. Follow the steps below.

Type the Employee Number assigned using the keypad, and press the

key.

This displays the Supervisor Main Menu

Note: If your ID number does not bring you to the Supervisor Menu, check you used the correct employee number. Contact System Administrator or Payroll for help.

At the Supervisor Menu, choose option for Administrative Menu on the keypad or screen.

Choose the option for Modify Existing or Register New Employee on the keypad or screen.

The prompts now guide you through recording your fingerprint so you can clock in and do all Supervisor tasks. Choose a finger on your left hand to register. Index finger is normally used. When the finger is properly placed in the reader, press the

key to take the image.

You will take three images of your fingerprint. Press the key after each. If you get a red fingerprint notice, reposition your finger and take the image again.

Default Department and Language

After the fingerprint registration choose the Supervisor’s default department/location (naming convention depends on your company’s configuration).

If employee works more than one job/department, check those they will work.

Change Language to the default for the employee.

Registering Supervisor: Payment Method This only applies for those companies using Insight Pay cards.

Once the Language is selected, the Supervisor’s payment method is chosen. Options here will depend on your state and company requirements.

Registering Supervisor: Personal Information This applies only to those companies using Insight Pay cards. Use the on screen keyboard to complete the fields. Use a capped pen to type for increased accuracy. -

NOTE: These will onl y apply if the company is using Insight Pay cards. You will type the name again.

Type the data into the field and press White keys for UP, DOWN, PREVIOUS or NEXT. Press Return after completing the field. Keying is similar to a smart phone or other keyboard. Remember to press

Pay or Swipe Card

Registering Supervisor: Assign Pay or Swipe Assigning Pay Cards only applies to those companies using Insight Pay cards. Swipe cards can apply to all. Login to Administrative Menu. Choose the option for Modify Existing or Register New Employee on the keypad or screen.

NOTE: Swipe and Pay cards may not be reissued to other employees. They are single issue.

Use the on screen keyboard to choose the employee. -

Choose New Pay Card to add a swipe card for the employee. Swipe the card from top to bottom with the strip in the reader and facing the wall.

The screen will prompt you to Swipe your Pay Card. Be certain to put the strip in the reader with the back of the card toward the wall, passing it through from top to bottom.

The Supervisor registers the employees using the same steps detailed starting on page 11. It is important to remember to have employee number and all details ready when starting the registration process.

Using the WalTer T6: Recording Time This applies to Supervisors and Employees

Place the registered finger on the fingerprint reader and type the Employee Number if prompted, on the keypad and press the key.

NOTE: Supervis ors m ay be prompted to approve mismatched punches or PTO requests prior to punching. Press the button to move forward and punch. Supervisory actions will be WalTer will take an image of the fingerprint and match it with the points for the employee clocking in. If the points match it will move forward. If the don’t match, it will read “Fingerprint mismatch”. Depending on the configuration, it may allow up to three tries. Otherwise it will continue and allow the punch noting the mismatch and will require Supervisor approval.

If the fingerprint doesn’t match any on file, an error displays. Check correct finger is used and properly placed. Check finger is clean and warm and not overly dry. 

Using the Clock


Press the number on screen or keypad for the action to take: Clock IN Clock OUT Change Language Lunch Break After completing the Clock action, an additional menu may display, asking for further choices for Department, Job or Work Order, depending on how Blueforce is configured. Defaults are the employee home units.    

NOTE: Supervis ors may be prompted to approve mismatched punches or PTO requests prior to punching.

A reminder of your probable next punch action may display at the bottom of the screen.

Press the button to move forward and punch. Supervisory actions will be covered in later pages. The main Employee Menu may display additional options, depending on how the clock is configured. The main actions to take remain the same: Clock IN Clock OUT Change Language Lunch Break    

Choose the task to work, if prompted, using the keypad or tapping the screen. Default task is marked with a red asterisk.

NOTE: All prom pts depend on the configuration in Blueforce and the employee defaults.

The Clock action is confirmed and the display returns to the Main Clock Menu.

Press the number on screen or keypad for the action to take: Lunch Break After completing the Clock action, an additional menu may display, asking if you worked safely. See Clock OUT section for details on Safety Question. 

Your site may not use Lunch Break punching. This is determined by the configuration at your site.

To start Lunch Break choose: Start Lunch Break Confirmation will display. If your clock is configured to ask Safety Question, it will ask here. If configured for prompts will ask here. Covered in following pages. 

Your site may not use Lunch Break punching. This is determined by the configuration at your site.

To end Lunch Break choose: End Lunch Break You may be asked to choose Department/Site or Job as during Clock IN. Choose as appropriate for your hours worked after lunch. 

Safety Question depends on the configuration of your site. Other questions may be asked and follow the same pattern to answer.

Additional prompts can be configured to prompt on any out punch for specific Paygroups. Up to nine prompts are available and they can be configured to read as your company needs. In the following example, Tips and Mileage are required entries while Travel Time is optional. The Safety Question follows any prompts.

Press the number on screen or keypad for the action to take, in this example: *Mileage Entry *Tip Amount Travel Time A red asterisk * marks required fields.   

NOTE: Up to 9 prompt s are possible. Each prompt can be configured to be what’s needed for the business and em ployee.

If the Safety Question is activated, you’ll see the question next. If not, confirmation of your Clock OUT displays. -

Change Language

Using the WalTer T6: Change Language This applies to Supervisors and Employees

After using your finger and/or Employee Number to access the clock, to change the language of all prompts you will see, choose the option for Change Language on sc reen or keypad.

The language chosen here is for all displays: English Spanish Polish French (Canadian) Choose the number on screen or keypad for the language needed. You are returned to the Main Employee Menu.    

Using the WalTer T6: Work/Pay Information This applies to Supervisors and Employees

After using your finger and/or Employee Number to access the clock, to review Work/Pay Information, choose the option for Work/Pay Information on screen or keypad.

The options here allow you to view and/or print information relating to your hours and pay card balance.

Using the WalTer T6: Work/Pay Information This applies to Supervisors and Employees

You will have options to display and/or print choices that apply to you and are configured at the site.

View pay stub or work report If the employee payroll information is sent to Blueforce and the clock, this will allow viewing/printing of the paystub. If it’s not sent, this item will be dim and not selectable.

View Attendance Two options are available: View Actual Time Stamps View Rounded Time Stamps To view punches by actual or rounded times. 



View Pay Card Balance This only applies if you have an Insight Paycard. Swipe the card through the reader to the right with the bar code in the slot and the back of the card toward the wall. Your balance will display. Be cautious about bystanders.

View/Print Timesheets You may view or print the total hours related to any pay period available here. You may also review and approve them depending on your configuration.

After using your finger and/or Employee Number to access the clock, to request PTO, choose the option for PTO Menu on screen or keypad.

The options here allow you to Request PTO, view your PTO Requests and PTO Balance. To Request PTO choose that option on screen or keypad.

To Print PTO requests press the key. To Exit back to the main Employee Menu, press the key.

To view your PTO Balance, choose that option on screen or keypad from the PTO Menu.

To Print PTO balances press the key. The balances display hours allocated, used and balance by date. Use the white keys to move UP and Down. To Exit back to the main Employee Menu, press the key.

Supervisor Action at Clock IN

Supervisor Clock IN Prompts: Mismatched Fingerprints After a Supervisor logs in, if there are mismatched fingerprints to approve, there will be a prompt to review/approve all or selectively. To move past this to Clock IN, press the to handle these later.

To handle at login, mismatched fingerprints can be approved selectively or all at once. Reviewing them selectively gives the opportunity to see who is having issues and how often. Use the white keys at the bottom of the screen to Approve All, Approve Selected Row and move UP and DOWN through the displayed punches. Press to Edit a row or

to Exit to the

Administrative Menu.

Supervisor Clock IN Prompts: PTO Approval

After a Supervisor logs in, if there are PTO requests to approve, there will be a prompt to Approve Now or to move past this to Clock IN, press the

Supervisor Fingerprint Approval

Supervisor: Fingerprint Approval Access from Administrative Menu After a Supervisor logs in, choose Administrative Menu.

Choose Approve Mismatched Fingerprint from the menu.

Supervisor Fingerprint Approval

If there are mismatched fingerprints to approve for employees assigned to the Supervisor, there will be a prompt to for the number to approve. Choose to Approve now selectively to do one at a time, or Approve All.

Reviewing fingerprints selectively gives the opportunity to see who is having issues and how often. Use the white keys at the bottom of the screen to Approve All, Approve Selected Row and move UP and DOWN through the displayed punches. Press or

to Edit a row to Exit to the Administrative Menu.

Supervisor: Manage Attendance–View Attendance Access from Administrative Menu

To view records, choose View Attendance. You will then choose the site group from those you have access to editing. You will also choose between Actual and Rounded Time Stamps to view.

Use the white keys at the bottom of the screen to move UP and DOWN through the records or between days. Press
