Training Resource Estimation 10 Day Comprehensive Workshop 29 July - 3 August and 20 - 24 August 2007, Perth This 10 day training and workshop is designed or both novice and experienced resource analysts wanting to learn how to implement advanced geostatistical concepts in VULCAN. The course is a combination o theoretical context and hands-on application. You will learn the undamental concepts and processes and how to put these into practice in VULCAN. Each attendee will have access to a dedicated computer, computer, where you will learn to apply techniques within VULCAN through case studies. The course is peppered with hints and tips. There is also ample opportunity oppor tunity to gain experience through open discussions and activities. Our objective is to oster your capability through conceptual explanations, explanations, discussions and practical applications.
This is a great opportunity to extend your own set o skills in resource estimation, including standard resource estimation estimation and advanced concepts o Multi-Variate Analysis, KNA (Kriging Neighbourhood Analysis) and Conditional Simulation.
Course outline The course is made up of two sessions of one week each, with a two-week break in between. Week 1

P resenters Jacqui Coombes , Principal, Coombes Capability, is passionate about sharing geostatisticial knowledge and experience. Since gaining a Masters degree in Geostatistics 17 years ago, Jacqui has been working in the resources industry, including 12 years with Snowden. Jacqui also runs technical mentoring programs in the mining industry. She is delighted with this opportunity to share her experience in resource estimation and reconciliation across all commodities and is committed to ostering your resource estimation skills. Rachel Burgess, MSc (Geology), works in Maptek Perth’s Technical Services Team Team and previously worked in our UK ofce. Rachel ocuses on running Maptek’s VULCAN VULCAN training, generating 3D models and consulting as a Geologist. Claudia Monreal, Maptek Perth Technical Services Manager, is a Mining Engineer with 10 years o experience. As a consultant with Maptek in Chile, Claudia worked with several mine sites in South America supporting their resource estimation projects, 3D modelling and grade control activities. Claudia also worked in Chuquicamata as a Resource Engineer.
