Home > Vulcan Gantt Scheduler > > Overview
Vulcan Gantt Scheduler Scheduler The Vulcan Gantt Scheduler is is a rate-based Gantt chart scheduler with a suite of tools for attributing, sequencing, animating, resource levelling, and reporting mine plans. Activity durations can be calculated from inherent design properties such as length, volume, or area or from other attributes associated with the design such as mass or fixed time. The main component of the Gantt Scheduler is the Gantt chart type display which includes a data side and a bar chart side. It allows users to define activities (tasks), which are in general related to 3D graphical representation of mine entities. Activities are assigned start and end dates for completion as well as precedence information from other 3D activities or types of activities for the same 3D representation. Those activities will have a series of associated fields with information that will be used in order to drive the schedule and for reporting purposes. Users will be able to create new fields with derived information.

Default Values for Attributes This topic lists the default values that are used when certain activities do not have a value defined. These values are only assigned for the expression evaluation process. The default values cannot be changed. Only user-defined attributes (the [ATT:] values in the expressions) have these default values because their type is known. Any other kind of metadata value ([DGD:], [TRI:] or [MET:]) do not have a default value when the metadata value does not exist. Attribute Type

The value of an attribute is #NULL! after evaluating the attribute expression.

Home > Vulcan Gantt Scheduler > Setup > Settings > Activity Types
Activity Types Use the Activity Types panel to add, edit, and delete activity types. Activity types are a group of activities that share a common work calculation definition. An activity type is a definition that converts an Envisage object (or triangulation) into a Vulcan Gantt activity. The activity type is defined by a quantity attribute and a default rate (to set an initial duration to the activity) and also manages the discretisation of an Envisage object, creating a group of minimum mining units. An activity type has an auto-assigned expression that can be used to assign automatically to an object. Activity groups consist of multiple activity types, sharing a common discretisation definition and operational precedence.

Attributes In the Selected column, select the check boxes next to the applicable attributes that are listed in the Attribute column. Defining Attributes There are three possible sources to populate attribute values in the activity grid: manual, expression, and inherent. Manual Manual attributes can be edited directly in the Gantt Chart window. They can be populated by an optional default value that is defined in the activity type setup, edited individually in the Gantt Chart window, or edited in bulk with Copy and Paste in the Gantt Chart window. Expression Expression attributes are defined using the Formula Editor panel as described above. Inherent The Gantt Scheduler can inherently read the Length (design data only), Area (design data and/or triangulations), and Volume (triangulation and/or design data with assigned primitive) attributes from Envisage.
