Scope
This test specification is used in sample and series monitoring tests for quality testing of vehicle parts, in particular Group parts, in the environmental cycle test both in unused condition as well as after component-specific pre-aging. The behavior of the parts during environmental cycle stressing shall be assessed here (e.g. susceptibility to cracks, deformation, separation of the composite material, etc.). PV 2005, Variant A

Testing
The parts to be tested (as a single part or an ASSY) or the vehicle are placed in the prepared climatic chamber and assessed after the required number of cycles. 4.1.1

Climatic Aging
Number of cycles according to technical supply specification or drawing (drawing entries take precedence). The holding times must always be maintained. The cooling-off and heating-up phases can be varied according to the performance capability of the climatic chambers used, even if this extends the cycle duration specified for both variants by max. 1/3. Deviations shall be specified in the test report. The humidity must not be controlled in the cold phases (temperature < 0° C), however it should not exceed 30 % rel. humidity. The chambers are loaded in the holding phase at +23° C and 30 % rel. humidity. 4.1.2.1 Variant A (Single Parts)

The holding phase at +23° C and 30 % rel. humidity can be used for loading the chambers or carrying out servicing work. The vehicle shall be irradiated with medium-wave infrared radiators (without radiation in the UV range ≤ 400 nm) during the heat phase (+42° C, 30 % rel. humidity) such that an outside temperature of +90° C is generated on the roof and in the vicinity of the door upper trims. The maximum temperatures established for the relevant vehicle type during open air weathering must be set for the following components / areas in the passenger compartment: Dashboard, center top scoop Door upper trims - Rear shelf / load compartment cover - Headroom The radiators can be used at a lower power setting during the heating-up phase and the moistening phase (-35 to +45° C; 30 to 95 % rel. humidity) to evenly heat the vehicle and the chambers. -
