Comparison sheet of VDF Vs. Laser leveled floor using ScreedSaver boom extension machine. The following points will elaborate advantages of Laser leveled floors over VDF (Vacuum de watered floor!.

The levels achieved with Laser screedSaver technology are far more higher than any other system to create wide panel floor construction. "n construction. "n fact it is i s impossible to cast panel wider than #$ %tr. using VDF s&stem' whereas there is no restriction of panel width with laser technolog&. Laser ScreedSaver technology allows concrete to be screeded without running equipment over the green / fresh concrete, thus it remains out of concrete unlike other other laser machines and V! system. "can be seen in image below#. The withdrawal of water produces settlement of the concrete, possibly up to $%. This can be topped up with the application of a dry shake but with little bleed water at the surface there is a risk of subsequent de&lamination which is not the case with Laser screedSaver technolog&. 'n general practice the V! process produces voids in the concrete and it has been found that with the same water / cement ratio, ordinary concrete has been found to have a somewhat higher strength than V! concrete, thus it suggests the use Laser ScreedSaver ScreedSaver as much beneficial in comparison. V! concrete stiffens very quickly and although this is fine in climates where V! was first developed "Sweden# it leaves the window of workability very short in hotter climates. (orkability of the concrete paste is critical when constructing a high tolerance floor for Very )arrow *isle *isle "V)*# warehouses or high performance flat factory floors. Laser screedSaver screedSaver technolog& on the other hand uses low slump concrete as it uses h&draulic power to screed screed and can wor easil& in slumps as low )*%% +**%% with ,-C ratio of .#/ Some of the finer materials are removed with the V! process and fine sands and cement contents of greater than $+ -g / m$ should be avoided. 0owever no such conditions are faced with Laser screedSaver technolog&.

1n important issue which needs to be addressed. 'f for eample a floor has been designed with a given concrete strength and that strength has been assumed to have a +% enhancement from the V! process, what happens when cores are taken from the finished slab "obviously cylinders / cube tests will only show strength of the concrete prior to V!# and the results are below that epected0 The concrete supplier will claim he has supplied concrete to the correct quality and the flooring contractor will claim he has carried out the V! process correctly. There are also the additional costs in testing to consider. 2ne of the biggest disadvantage with the VDF s&stem is that it is best suited for the more traditional long strip method of construction which is fine when considering the construction of flat floors for V)* applications where the ma1ority of the construction 1oints fall under the racking and out of reach from f orklift traffic. 0owever' the VDF process is not reall& conducive to more modern' high throughput construction techni3ues that have been recentl& introduced to "ndia which includes Laser Screeding technolog&. 2onstruction methods and equipment that have been used in 3urope and the 4S* for nearly twenty years and have now become the common construction method for building floors for warehouses, factories and distribution centers. 5y t his we mean constructing floors using the Laser ScreedSaver Technology. 4sing the VDF process limits the construction method to the long strip s&stem. This is a slower process compared to other methods that can be made available and increases the number of construction 1oints in the floor. *lthough best efforts can be made to hide the 1oints under racking and out of forklift traffic, this is not always possible and who knows how the building will be used in time. 4sing Laser screedSaver technolog& it reduces the number of construction 5oints reduces time' labour and materials all of which bring cost savings and reduced long term maintenance. 'f !ree 6ovement, the floor will usually be specified either !67 or !6$ and designed to be constructed using the Laser ScreedSaver technology, Large pour method of construction to reduce the number of formed 1oints thus reduce long term maintenance costs. 4sing Laser ScreedSaver technology will substantially reduce 1oints resulting in chances of floor cracks from construction 1oints.
