3. QUALIFICATIONS:A) AGE:
The applicant should have attained the age of 20 years and should not be aged above 28 years as on 01.07.2015 (should have been born on or after 01.07.1987 and on or before 01.07.1995). The upper age limit relaxation is given to certain categories as follows:Category

Candidates should have studied Tamil as a subject in X / XII / Degree. If not studied, candidates will have to pass the Tamil-Part II Test conducted by Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission within 2 years of joining the service.

Eligibility
Serving police personnel meeting eligibility criteria under Rule 14 of TNPSS Rules, 1953. Sports person who have represented Nation, State or University in approved 14 sports/games in an event within 5 years preceding the date of notification. Ward/dependent of serving/ retired/ deceased or medically invalidated police personnel and ward/ dependent of serving ministerial staff of Police Department.
Note:-
i. In case required numbers of candidates are not available for any o f the Special Quotas (Departmental, Sports and Wards), the vacancies would be transferred to Open Quota.
ii. Communal reservation is provided within each quota as per existing rules. 6. ELIGIBILITY FOR APPLYING UNDER 20% POLICE DEPARTMENTAL QUOTA
i. Police Constables and Head Constables and their equivalent ranks in the Armed Reserve Police and Tamil Nadu Special Police can apply under 20% Departmental Quota if they meet the following eligibility criteria under Rule 14 of TNPSS Rules,1953. a. They should have completed 5 years of service as on the date of notification. b. They should have a clean record without any punishment other than the minor punishments of black mark, reprimand or censure.

ii. Sub-Inspectors already in service in TSP/AR who fulfill prescribed eligibility norms for open candidates can apply only under Open Quota and not under departmental quota. iii. Candidates applying under departmental quota are not eligible for any other special quota like Ward/dependent Quota or Sports Quota. iv. Departmental Candidate can also apply under Open Quota, if they fulfill eligibility norms of Open Quota Candidates. These candidates will have to appear for two Written Examinations which will be held he ld on two different dates. v. Departmental Quota candidates will have to upload scanned image of ‘No Objection Certificate ’ issued by the Officer in the rank of Superintendent of Police and above as per the prescribed format (see reference documents). documents). vi. Departmental Quota candidates are exempted from Physical Measurement Test and Physical Efficiency Test. However, they are required to attend the Certificate verification and Endurance En durance Test. 7. ELIGIBILITY FOR APPLYING UNDER 10% SPORTS QUOTA:-
i.
Candidates applying under 10% Sports Quota should fulfil all the norms prescribed for open candidates. In addition, the candidate is required to produce Form-I, Form-II or Form-III for the approved 14 games/sports for an event held within 5 years preceding the date of notification to be eligible. (see reference documents)

The Sports Quota candidate will have to participate in the Written Examination, Certificate Verification, Physical Measurement Test, Endurance Test and Physical Efficiency Eff iciency Tests. No special tests in these 14 games will be conducted for Sports Quota candidate. The seniority of the candidates shall be based on the following order of

b) Those who represented in the International Tournaments. c) Those who won medals in the National Tournaments. d) Those who represented in National Tournaments. Tournaments. e) Those who won medals in the Inter-Universi Inte r-University ty Tournaments. f) Those who represented in Inter-University Tournaments. If candidates under Sports Quota secure the same marks and belong to the same community, the senior among the candidate (age) will be ranked higher.
8. ELIGIBILITY FOR APPLYING UNDER 10% WARDS/DEPENDENT QUOTA
i.
10% of vacancies shall be filled up from the wards/dependents of serving, retired, deceased and medically invalidated police personnel (9%) and wards/dependents wards/dependents of serving ministerial staff of Police Department (1%).
ii.
There is no reservation under this quota for wards of other Government Servants.
iii.
The ward certificate should be obtained in the prescribed format after the date of notification. Old certificate obtained for any other recruitment will not be entertained. (see reference documents)
iv.
If the ward certificate is not furnished in the proper format, the candidate will not be considered under Wards Quota and will be treated as General candidate.

v.
The unfilled vacancies of Wards Quota will be filled by General candidate of same category.
9. CONCESSIONS FOR SPECIAL CATEGORIES A. EX-SERVICEMEN AND EX-PERSONNEL OF CENTRAL PARA-MILITARY FORCES:-
i.
Age Relaxation: The upper age limit shall be 45 years. However the ExServicemen and Ex-Personnel of Central Para-military Forces should have been discharged from service within 3 years from the date of notification. The discharge certificate will have to be uploaded. up loaded.
ii.
They are exempted from Physical Measurement Test (PMT). However, they will have to attend the Certificate Verification, Endurance Test (ET), Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and Viva-Voce.
B. DESTITUTE WIDOW:-
a.
Age Relaxation: The upper age limit li mit shall be 35 years.
b.
All the Destitute Widow candidates will have to upload “Destitute Widow Certificate” issued by the Revenue Divisional Officer / SubCollector / Assistant Collector in the prescribed pre scribed format.
10.MODE 10. MODE OF APPLICATION
Candidates can apply only through online at www.tnusrbexams.net. Any other mode / form of application appli cation will be summarily rejected. 11.DOWNLOADING 11. DOWNLOADING OF CALL LETTERS:-
SMS and E-mail alerts will be sent to the eligible candidates on the registered mobile number and e-mail ID for downloading the call letters for Written Examination. On receiving the SMS or E-mail alert, the candidate can login to his/her account with Registration ID and Password and download the call letter for the Written Examination. Departmental candidates appearing for both Departmental Quota examination as well as Open Quota examination will be able to download two separate call letters.

SECTION-II 1. STAGES OF THE RECRUITMENT
i. All the eligible candidates will be called for Written Examination. ii. Amongst the candidates clearing the Written Examination, the number of candidates called for second stage of Certificate Verification, Physical Measurement Test, Endurance Test and Physical Efficiency Tests will be in the ratio of 1:5 i.e. the number of candidates called for second stage will be restricted to 5 times the number of vacancies in each quota/category. iii. Only the candidates clearing the Certificate Verification will be allowed to participate in Physical Measurement Measurement Test. iv. The candidates who qualify in Physical Measurement Measurement Test alone will be allowed a llowed to attend Endurance Test. v. The candidates who qualify in Endurance Test alone will be allowed to attend Physical Efficiency Test. vi. Candidates who qualify in Physical Efficiency Test will be called for Viva-Voce in the ratio of 1:2 i.e. the number of candidates called for Viva-Voce will be restricted to 2 times the number of vacancies in each quota/category. 2. 3. WRITTEN EXAMINATION
i.
The Written Examination will be conducted at 32 District Headquarters. (List of Centres is enclosed in Annexure-II) . ii. Written Examination comprises of one paper containing objective type questions. iii. The subjects covered in Written Examination are as follows: A) Open Quota:1. The duration of the Written Examination will be 2 hours 30 minutes. 2. Minimum pass marks is 35% of 70 marks i.e. 25 marks. Sl. No

The results of Written Examination will be published on www.tnusrbexams.net . 4. CERTIFICATE VERIFICATION-PMT-ET-PET A. CERTIFICATE VERIFICATION:-
Candidates called for Certificate Verification/PMT/ET/PET will have to produce the original certificates which they had uploaded during submission of the online application. Candidate who fails to produce the Original Certificates will lose his/her claims with regard to communal reservation, age relaxation and special quotas. B. nearest centimetre or the nearest 0.5 centimetre, as the case may be. Phy sical Measurement Test: When a candidate is dissatisfied with his 4. Appeal in Physical measurement, he can make an appeal to the Sub-Committee Chairman regarding his Height / Chest re-measurement. Similarly, Women candidate can also make an appeal to the Sub-Committee Chairman regarding her height remeasurement. 5. Only the candidates who qualify in the Physical Measurement Test will be allowed to appear for the Endurance Endu rance Test (ET). C. ENDURANCE TEST

VIVA-VOCE
The Viva-Voce will be conducted at TNUSRB headquarters. Candidates who are called for Viva-Voce should produce all the Original Certificates at the time of Viva-Voce. Candidates who are serving as Government Servants (other than the departmental quota candidates) in Union or State Government should produce “No Objection Certificate” obtained from their respective Unit Heads. Candidates who are possessing NCC / NSS / Sports Certificates or Medals received in National Police Duty Meet (in-case of Departmental candidates) should produce the Original Certificates along with one photo copy of the same at the time of Viva-Voce for awarding of special marks.

6. SPECIAL MARKS
Open Quota candidates will be given Special marks for their participation in NCC, NSS and Sports. Departmental Quota candidates will be given Special marks for medals in National Police Duty Meets. The details are furnished in Annexure-III. 7. PROVISIONAL SELECT LIST
a. Provisional Select List is drawn based on the total marks obtained in the Written Examination, Physical Efficiency Test, Viva-Voce and Special marks b. c. d. e.
subject to communal reservation re servation and total vacancies. If there is a tie in marks, the candidate senior in age shall be given priority in selection. If the marks secured are equal, preference shall be given to the candidate who is an outstanding scout, having received re ceived an award from the President of India. If the candidate has qualified in both Departmental Quota and Open Quota, he/she will be considered under Departmental Quota only. 20% of all vacancies v acancies shall be set apart on preferential basis for fo r the persons who

8. MEDICAL
