Going beyond the expected. Think of a moment in your life when your expectations were utterly transcended: a celebration where everything went exactly right, a routine journey that suddenly became remarkable through a surprise encounter with a friendly face. Life delivers these occasions rarely. Abercrombie & Kent delivers them every day. I helped found Abercrombie & Kent in the belief that travel should always surprise, stimulate and inspire. We don’t count on luck to exceed your expectations: we take you to places others can’t go and introduce you to people who embody the true character of your destination.
We can do more than simply deliver you to Machu Picchu; we can ensure you arrive when most other visitors have departed, leaving you free to explore in peace. We will even arrange for the chief archaeologist to accompany you through the site, revealing its secrets as only a true expert can. Exceeding expectations is a hallmark of the Abercrombie & Kent travel experience — so much so that we’ve adopted the phrase “& moment” to describe those occasions when we deliver more than you ever thought possible. I am proud to invite you to join us for a new season of unforgettable journeys.

A&K Philanthropy. A deep-rooted concern for the natural world infuses each and every Abercrombie & Kent journey. Abercrombie & Kent believes passionately that travel should both respect the natural environment and benefit the indigenous peoples whose lands we visit. For more than 25 years, we have worked to ensure that human populations, flora and fauna continue to survive and coexist successfully. Abercrombie & Kent Philanthropy, guided by Vice Chairman Jorie Butler Kent, facilitates our commitment to socially and ecologically responsible travel worldwide, as well as helping our guests to become actively involved in these efforts. Every Abercrombie & Kent office plays a hands-on role in its community, sponsoring an on-site project that benefits both people and the environment, such as:
and education to povertystricken children in Peru through a local foundation, Children of the Rainbow victims of Cyclone Nargis in Myanmar, raising more than $250,000 in 30 days and bringing the first shipments of food and clothing to devastated areas in Africa by planting more than 30,000 native trees, many personally planted by A&K guests Select A&K journeys (indicated with a icon in this brochure) include opportunities for travellers to personally contribute to these projects. We are proud to join with our guests in preserving habitats and improving living conditions for indigenous peoples around the world.
Programs marked with this symbol include philanthropic activities in which guests may take part.

EGYPT | JORDAN | ISRAEL
| MOROCCO
Egypt, Jordan, Israel & Morocco Three giant Pyramids rest on a blanket of sand. So simple, yet so complex. But there’s so much more to Egypt — massive temples dedicated to gods and pharaohs revered as much in death as in life. Cruise the Nile and view the spectacle lining the river banks. Tour the tombs and temples and watch a pictorial history unfold in their hieroglyphics. These architectural marvels have carried the mysteries of ancient Egypt down through the ages. The legacy of Jordan transcends time. Here you’ll find Petra, carved from rose-red sandstone, the region’s importance as a caravan crossroads. And then there’s Israel: a tiny strip of land along the Mediterranean that, in one guise or another, has been a historic giant for more than 2,000 years. Morocco takes visitors back to a slower time of mint tea in cool court yards and sun-drenched bazaars selling everything from hand-knitted carpets to brass platters.

Latin America & the Galápagos With a capital like Buenos Aires, known as the “Paris of the South,” it is no wonder that Argentina is a sophisticated, beautiful country, rich with both European and Amerindian roots. In neighboring Chile’s diverse landscape, you can have a romantic picnic on salt-carved benches in the Atacama Desert, break bread with a farmer in the forest of Torres del Paine or make a toast on a crystal glacier ledge in Patagonia. Just as remarkable is Peru. The ancient stone terraces and ruins of Machu Picchu, hidden for centuries, hold Incan secrets. Search for clues in archaeological and art museums and in intricate pre-Columbian artifacts that adorn buildings and plazas. In theand Galápagos, sunbathe fur seals walk paths clearedwith by iguana and Sally Lightfoot crab, enjoying this fragile ecosystem that is one of the most spectacular in the world.
